Military Forces Quake 3 (MFQ3) is the continuation of the line of AirQuake mods. Many of the team come from working on AirQuake2, and many have made add-ons to the legendary AirQuake.

In MFQ3, the player can choose to fly planes of all sizes, drive tanks or even captain boats, fighting in a variety of locations.

MFQ3 aims to balance the realism of 'serious' flight sims with arcade fun to mix an infectious gameplay cocktail.

MFQ3 currently has a public alpha available for download, and we are nearing the completion of the next public release.

A few highlights for the next release:
- All new HUD system that looks something like TheRealThing ™.
- Tons of new vehicles: planes, tanks and boats!
- Shadows cast by aeroplanes: easier landings at last.
- All new Team Arena-based UI system.
- Basic features of our IGME working.
- Kickass maps.
- Sweet guided missles! No more cannon-spamming.
- Animated gear dropping/retraction.

After a long wait we're finally releasing our second public version of Military Forces Quake3. MFQ3 is the continuation of the AirQuake (1 and 2) series. This version features a new HUD and GUI, new planes, tanks and boats, guided missles and nukes.

Hit the MFQ3 website, grab the files from the links on the front page, and play!

Enjoy.

Thanks for the kind words MajinSlu!

There's been talk of MFQ3 being made redundant by BF1942 - especially by the release of the Desert Combat mod for BF1942.

But we're totally dedicated to continuing MFQ3 and heading it in the direction we're interested in.

As for the next release: I seem to be saying this a lot, but it truly is a whole new game! It's quite something to take a ground-hugging route through some hills only to pop-up at the last minute and drop an iron bomb on a SAM site...! Wicked stuff!

We're forever talking (both rubbish and reality) in the MFQ3 forums, so feel free to join us there - comments/suggestions welcome! :)

Cheers!

This mod is looking awesome, keep up the good work. Even with one map the alpha was fun as hell with a few of my friends. I hope we get some dedicated servers for this one.

Nicely hidden "when's the release?" question... heh.

Well, we can only give you the "when it's done" standard phrase.

And that's not because we don't wanna tell you when it's due out: we honestly don't have any date set. Bjoern is coding and we're all trying to finish our respective jobs - or at least trying to bring to a release-able point.

So when it happens, it happens. ;)

Mmm... tasty. Couldn't resist commenting away just because it's fun... ;)

Have had tons of fun trying to destroy some randomly-placed SAMs in the Atoll map. They're pretty damn vicious when you're the only player/target in the map.

SAMs will likely be the only IGME element that is properly introduced in the next release, but damn are they fun!

Look for more cool stuff soon.

Well, that's what's happened. I've updated the News, created a Gallery and added a bit more info to the About section of our mod profile.

Enjoy, and please feel free to visit out forums if you feel the urge! ;)
