This is the first of 3 large updates before the release of MEC2 R2 (likely the final version of the mod). The subjects of this update are mainly the Law System and the UN Ads, although we'll cover a couple other things too.
Law System
The UN is not the GDI, nor America (from CNC Generals). We wanted it to have it's own feel. The first part of it is to make their bases feel very safe, very Green Zone-like. The second main part is to make it feel somewhat more like peacekeeping, or police-like. For this we added in the UN's Law System. *
When playing as the UN, if the enemy uses WMD's, terrorists or kills civilians you will be able to build extra Brummbars. By default a player can only ever build 1 of the UN supertanks, however if your opponent keeps using forbidden weapons and tactics you can unlock up to 4 of them (as seen in the screens below).
Note: The defenses placed weren't done in the worldbuilder, but done ingame using the UN Dozer that lets you build small structures around them.
Brummbar
For more detailed info on the Brummbar see this older newspost. In sum, its big, slow, is built as a building (the Law System unlocked ones are built from the defense tab), costs no fuel and has an AA turret on top. Additionally the Brummbar can deploy, dropping its anchors and extending its barrel for artillery mode (longer range and wider splash damage).
Due to the Brummbar costing no fuel, it functions like the IDF Nuclear Reactor. When a Brummbar is destroyed it has an initial death state where you can see it's reactors glowing green. After a little bit of time the Brummbar's engine will then detonate into a final death, causing a wide area of destruction and spewing radiation.
Sponsored Peacekeeping
In MEC2 each faction has a secondary resource; the IDF has News Vans and Drones and the GOI has export oil. Initially the news idea was part of the UN as embedded reporters...however we felt the drones fit in better with the IDF. We did really like the Ads on the buildings...so the UN's secondary resource is pop-up advertisements.
You can cast the ads anywhere on the map and you will earn money depending on the amount of units within the radius (both friendly and enemy units generate income from them). The ads also reduce unit weapon range and vision to near 0. How it usually works out in gameplay is you usually cast it down on your main clump of units when you know they won't be attacked for a little while. Sometimes though, I do find it useful to scan an enemy base, cast ads to blind the bulk of their antiaircraft defenses just before a bombing run.
Note: Depending on the map, and starting location the ads will change.
The UN Jeep
The Jeep is a light, fast vehicle with a built-in machinegun turret. You can also fit 1 infantry inside to fire out at enemies. The Jeep can research the upgrade 'Turbo' which when clicked grants the unit much faster movement for a brief time.

Fantastic mod, hope you get the recognition you deserve
Thanks for the update. The law system sounds pretty cool. Can't wait to play the UN.
I you want it to be nor USA nor GDI Give them Russian weaponry such as a Havoc Heli or even some Heavy Rus-Tanks
Will the UN have some sort of air force other than the bomber that was shown a few months ago?
Yea, they'll be shown in an upcoming update.
