F-35 was a cancelled experimental jet prototype with very few active duty jets, it is Americas answer to the harrier, the back engine would tilt on a ball joint. as well as having a small jet under the cockpit. its basically the real life orca, just more jet like and less chopper like, though we are slowly getting towards jet choppers

Huh?!? This jet replaced US Sea Harrier as far as I can tell, it even got an official name, F-35 Lightning instead of Joint Strike Fighter, US start making them and export ready to export some to their partners in development. Where you get that information?

lol its not been cancelled there in production and will be fully intergrated into the US army in 2016

F-35 is fully operational. It is scheduled to be the new join strick fighter aircraft for our carrier fleet last I checked.
