This is Half-Life 2 modification based on the 1991 MSX2 game "Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake". MG2:SS is a critically acclaimed game which has managed to age well, but is trapped inside another gen. Its potentials are so many, that we thought it was our duty to bring it over to this generation. Intriguing story with plot twists and (hopefully) original and Tactical Espionage Action gameplay is what we are aiming at.
We're facing issues with releasing the game, but regardless, it is an ambitious project.

After a long hiatius, we're picking up the pieces again. We have a new forum, since the old one died. Coding has moved a bit further and the basic part of it is mostly done. We're lacking staff for mapping, modeling and texturing, which is our next focus, but we're still going.

Yeah, what Vegetable said. So far there have been 5 Metal gear games. The original two were 8-bit and released for the MSX game system. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, was released in 1990 ONLY in Japan and a few other regions, therefore only few know of it. That's the one we are remaking ;)

Sorry, Testament. We're remaking Metal Gear 2 for the MSX, not Metal Gear Solid. You could always buy a Gamecube and play the Metal Gear Solid remake.

cuz that would be cool...I mean the 1st Metal Gear Solid at grafic was kinda bad and the gameplay...well not really annoyng...so i was searchng the web when i saw the MGS1 Gamecube version and I was like OMFG THIS LOOKS SO GREAT! WHISH THIS WOULD BE 4 PC
Ladies and gentlemen I'm delighted to announce that the Subsistence version of MG2:SS has changed *nothing* plot-wise, so we won't be spending any time rewritting the script, apart from the necessary name changes and added dialogue in proper English.

Sure I do. It's also said that Kojima will change some of the names and details, so I'm holding the script back for a while. Fun stuff.
And FYI, the original MGS games weren't for NES, they were for the MSX. The NES games have NOT Kojima's affiliation whatsoever.
MSX meaning the original NES MGS games, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake? If so, then yes.
