This is Half-Life 2 modification based on the 1991 MSX2 game "Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake". MG2:SS is a critically acclaimed game which has managed to age well, but is trapped inside another gen. Its potentials are so many, that we thought it was our duty to bring it over to this generation. Intriguing story with plot twists and (hopefully) original and Tactical Espionage Action gameplay is what we are aiming at.
We're facing issues with releasing the game, but regardless, it is an ambitious project.

After a long hiatius, we're picking up the pieces again. We have a new forum, since the old one died. Coding has moved a bit further and the basic part of it is mostly done. We're lacking staff for mapping, modeling and texturing, which is our next focus, but we're still going.

I used to be a regular at TUS, even though I'm taking a few breaks occasionally. It happened that this thread was started during my absense and now the thread is locked, so I can't speak and pawn the -otehrwise adorable- News bot =P. Like Veggie said, mod progress is going well. The game, WILL NOT BE AN FPS. WTF? I'm an MGS fan and I'd make it an fps game? Game's stealth. Maybe more stealth than the actual MGS. And it's in both 1st and 3rd person perspective.
Unfortunately, releasing the game is still an issue, as it won't see the light of day (read: leave our computers) if Kojipro and Konami don't grant permission.
We've surprisingly had a bit of progress lately. Our new skinner has just skinned the AK-47, one of our modellers has become a coder as well, our main coder is hard at work on the engine of the game, and our new mapper has been working on some underground maps.
So how's development so far?, The Boys down at Metal Gear Solid The Unofficial Site (http://www.metalgearsolid.org/) had some doubts about this mod (http://www.metalgearsolid.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10578), but as long as the formula of Stealth Stays and it feels somewhat like Metal Gear, then I could care how this game turn's out.
Two renders of the Jericho 941 handgun and the AK-47 rifle have been added. More pictures to follow soon.
A small note to everyone who is interested: The Concept Artist position has been covered, but due to a glitch in Moddb I can't mark it as fullfilled for the time being. Just giving the heads up.
