Because it's a mutalisk

The creator said somewhere that he doesn't really want to change the models, which is a bad idea in my opinion. Reskin mods with different story are such a cheap method.

MesoCosmos isn't a 'Reskin mod with a different story'. It's a whole other game. Let me give you an example:

The siege tank in MesoCosmos (called the Conqueror) is not a fragile artillery vehicle - it's a heavy assault TANK capable of withstanding heavy punishment, and it can't deploy in siege mode. It's a medium/short range unit with a cannon fodder/heavy assault role. It's main drawback is it's production speed and price. See a contrast between StarCraft II and MesoCosmos?

Okay, it's some models reskined, attributes modified and story changed.
But I still hope it has more custom models then SCII ones modified.

This sounds too much like reskinning, choppy work. I suggest you throw any concept taht looks even vaguely like SC material out the window. And do it now!

Oh and your description of the differences between a siege tank and your tank is such a polititian way of dodging the issue, the issue is not what your calling your units, or how they are used in strategy, but that you use the original models. If you trully want to make 'your own game' get rid of the original models and make your own, put some actual effort into it.

You haven't seen half of the contrast this mod will have to StarCraft II. While, yes, most models will be re-used, there are changed which you can make that will make it look very different from what it originally is (skin, size, role, etc).

For the time being, the aim here is to make something good with not so much resources as mods like The Forgotten for Command and Conquer 3 (hats off to them btw), but this will be based heavily on people's contributions. This mod isn't a half-*** effort to convert StarCraft II. If you think it is, then that's too bad for you.

man so far i wanna see you actually REMAKE the flesh herder concept art cause i found a pic that is just like it with color changes >_< and it was the reaver for SC2 (it got cut thats why it isn't there) the pic didnt have what look like zerglings in the corner cause its toss :P

The flesh herer looks like a recoloured reaver because the flesh herder is a reskin of the reaver... that's the main purpose of reskining... to recolour...

... get a better concept artist man... this one sticks TOO MUCH on the old SC2 units (the reaver got cut and replaced by colossus) if ur gonna make a good mod i do suggest you get modelers on this and make your OWN models for this mod instead of re-using "For the time being, the aim here is to make something good with not so much resources as mods like The Forgotten for Command and Conquer 3 (hats off to them btw), but this will be based heavily on people's contributions. I don't really see the point of altering the reaver model if the actual one works for what is intended to in the mod. If it's role changes, then maybe the model will be altered. For now, it stays exactly as it is xD

But don't worry, there will be new models.

Yes, there are plans to implement completely new models, like the Saga Stormbell (previous image).

A flying (well, it can't move, but it will be in the air and targetable by weapons that can attack air) defensive structure that is much more resistant than the Photon Cannon. It's essentially more powerful and more expensive too. The aim here is to make turtling a viable tactic and not something only pros can pull.

Turtling is noobish and makes a game unnecessarily long (and boring) because you are desperately trying to overrun the enemies base and squash there defence. Cannon push on the other hand is better, that takes real skill but no expensive cannons will do I'm afraid.
