The 'Middle Earth Roleplaying Project' aims to recreate J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth in the Creation engine of 'Skyrim'. The player will be plunged into Middle Earth near the end of the Third Age, not long before the War of the Ring breaks out.

needs bigger pumpkin for hobbit festivals :)
like it so far!
that can be simply made by scaling up the pumpkin in the creation kit :)
Where is Lembas Bread :O?
be patient, dude! we're still working on Rohan, i don't think rohirrim eat lembas bread every day :D
They should! Tsk these people don't know a good thing... :P
They don't eat Lembas at all infact ;) Its an Elvish thing
you say that, my dear. I'll eat some lembas bread for breakfast tomorrow :)
Why eat lembas when you can have some nice stale Cram!
Will food actually do anything in this mod? Will you have to eat?
In realism mode, yes. We've yet to decide on whether you will need to eat in normal mode.
Please don't make us eat in normal mode. That would kinda defeat the purpose of having two modes in the first place, pluss a lot of people don't want to worry about eating all the time :P
If it could be a checkbox in the options (like the difficulty level) it would be great. =)
By the way the models looks really good.
maybe you should make it that, if you choose the ringbearer mode and are a Hobbit you will have to eat! seing as though they like their food soo much and the Hobbits in the fellowship always seem to be struggling when it comes to food XD
It would make it just that much realistic but may take the fun out of it aswell...
well frodo and sam were starving in mordor, they were running out of food.
Looks good, but I dunno, they just seem a tad too bright
I think that if there was more shading your opinion would differ...
What about second breakfast? :S I'm getting hungry...
Those vittles would hardly do for second breakfast. It does seem like proper elevenses though :)
Nice to see so much attention is put into food, since it's a pretty integral part of Hobbit culture ;)
Second breakfast in style!
Good job MEB!
Please tell me you're making custom table textures, they look ridiculous underneath your glorious creations!
I didnt make these :P Unbekannter did these, I just uploaded the photo ;)
good upload MEB!
Cant ******* Wait!
No, it never can
AWSOMEE!
I'm hungry now! x_x
GUYS I can't wait anymoar
Unless you want to see 20 spreadsheets, then you'll have to :P
haha, kai
If I remember right Tolkein based all his factions on real countries to an extent. You could probably work out more about the food if you knew which was which.
Rohan is approximatly southern france-ish. So we will take that into account once we start doing NPC's and food.
Hmm, okay, baguettes will do I guess, but please don't add in escargots or blue cheese. That would kill even a hobbit's appetite :P
Whats wrong with blue cheese?
The smell for starters, but it's something personal too. I actually dislike any kind of cheese. So it shouldn't be in the mod, because I don't like it :P
Your character doesn't have to go near it :P
We definitely need to add smells in MERP. I'm sure someone will come up with a way of doing it so that you can smell the blue cheese in its cheesey goodness.
Yeah, you should make the smell look like the black smoke floating around the enchanted ebony armor :) O, and make it poisonous too :P
blue cheese is eww
*blue
*Blue
Your mom is eww. (no hard feelings btw) :P
What was tolkiens final word on new world produce? Because it was once pointed out to the Professor about potatos etc being new world and I can't remember the response and subsequent conclusion.
Carrots are technically new-world for europe, but I don't think potatos are. We'll put some research into this one we get to that stage.
actually yes potatoes and corn came from america
You should keep in mind here that potatoes are exactly mentioned in the books, so we can be sure that Arda isn't limited to "Old-World-Foods"
Carrots arn't new world, I'm sure they are native to europe and the original wild carrot comes from afghanistan and they wern't orange till the Dutch bred them. But pumpkins are New World. I can't remember what Tolkien said about it all anyway so it likely doesn't matter and no one will notice if Pumpkins or tomatos are available. It looks veried and brighter with modern veg.
I will go out on a limb and say that he most likely would say the Numenoreans brought them to Middle Earth after their voyages around the world (both before and after the fall of Numenor itself). Anyway, Arda is set in a mythic age so it isn't an exact copy of the real Earth anyways.
the orange was brought by the portuguese from china in XVI century
The garden strawberry was first bred in Brittany, France, in the 1750s via a cross of Fragaria virginiana from eastern North America and Fragaria chiloensis, which was brought from Chile by Amédée-François Frézier in 1714.[1]
How fascinating!
Nice copy-paste. If you didn't copy-paste though, you know too much. :P
Its an obvious copy-paste since he didn't bother to remove the the citation link at the end, BUT he never claimed that its his own information, so yeah...
