One of MERP&Blade's features is Cavalry Formations. This is a WIP demonstration of it.

How many characters do you think you will be able to show at once? (moderately good computer and without dropping to 5 fps that is).
With the high-poly to low-poly strategy we follow, you'll be able to see a lot! ;)

wait. so if I were to venture to a rohirrim territory, there would be patrols like that dotted around the region?
That is the general plan. There will be Rohirrim and Gondorian soldiers protecting their respective territorries while there will be orc and uruk raiding parties wondering the areas as well and occassionally they will meet and skirmish. However, the big battles most likely won't have this sort of "openness" to them as they need to be done in very controlled environments and thus will most likely be "instanced", taking place in their own "world space" (much like cities in Oblivion were in their own world space). However, the plans for these things aren't final as they are a good ways off in the future. ;)
