Not only are we working on fixing the issues reported in Mental Omega 3.0 and adding new units, new missions and cooperative maps for Act Two, but we're also looking forward to the return of the most needed feature for Mental Omega, which was unavailable so far for technical reasons. We're also awaiting full CnCNet 5 support for Yuri's Revenge in order to solve a lot of grievances with online play and make it work with our mod as well.

As with many big mod developments, everything relies on voluntary contributions from various people which require time. When all pieces are in place, all will be revealed and the balance of power will shift once more. When? Time will tell, sooner or later. Until then, you can help Yuri rise to power if you haven't already, or you can consider contributing to the mod to help speed up the release.

Due to our current texture artist being unavailable, we are looking for someone experienced with UVW maps and texturing 3D models who can help with finishing the work on a set of new buildings within the aesthetic style of the game. We already have plenty of finished models to work with, be it in 3ds Max or Blender. For more information write an e-mail to mental.omega.apyr@gmail.com

We are also looking for additional Voice Actors for new units and missions as well as Red Alert 2/Yuri Mission Scripters to help with the ambitious campaign project we are working on as a part of Mental Omega. Singular contributions are also welcome. Use the e-mail address listed above.

Well, you've certainly made the new campaign hard, I'll give you that. 15 tries, and roughly 12 hours later, and I have yet to reach objective 3 on the 4th mission of the Allied campaign. A single miss-click, and it's all over. Restart the entire mission. I really wish Mental Omega had a save feature...

The save feature won't be around for a while but the missions will most certainly be easier in the next version, so you can look forward to that at least.

As long as the save feature makes it one day! Mission 4 would be easy with a save feature. Without it, it's a pretty grueling process. You require all 7 of your rocketeers, and both marines alive for just about the entire mission, but a single miss click can land a Tsivil chasing after your marines, or a stray flak trooper killing one of your Rocketeers off screen. I say that you need all of your units, because at a certain point, unless you have both marines, you can't get past the turrets guarding an entrance, and if you have too few Rocketeers, they won't be strong enough to out damage the repair tick on the turrets guarding the bases. Marines are supposed to get the flak cannons, so that your Rocketeers can get the sentry guns for your marines. Some spots require very tricky, and painstaking killing/sneaking. Like, at one point, two anti-air tanks are guarding a road, and you have to position your marines just right so that they can take pot shots at them until they're dead without gaining their agro, which takes a while. As did killing that one Warminer in the lower left hand corner of the map. Too many Flak Cannons for the Rocketeers to get near, so I had to do the same, take two shots, fall back, heal, hide around a wall, take two pot shots, the Warminer leaves the ore field because it's under fire, wait for it to return, etc. Was very frustrating slowly picking off units one at a time like that, only to miss click once, and have a marine get too close to a sentry gun, and be killed almost instantly by it. ... Or worse yet, even though your waypoint was nowhere near the sentry, he still decided to run straight for it, and then turn at the last second for your destination...

The mission however, is very well done I must say. Once it gets a save feature, it'll be fine. Felt like I was playing one of those old Commando games!

Aside form the new insignia, how about make a minor change to the Libra clone model too? So they're even more visually distinguished and a careless eye wouldn't mistake it as a promoted unit.

Easily one of the best, most professional "YR+" mods around. MO is genuinely produced as a "YR expansion", continuing the game's theme and storyline with a whole brand new campaign for all three factions.

While bringing in a few new ideas and a lot of new units for the games houses (without being overcrowded), MO doesn't depart too much from the original games atmosphere - a great mod for anyone who wants 'a little bit more YR'.
