Back in the early days of Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge modding, it was a common practice to repurpose an already existing in-game object for something different. This was done to match the modder's vision on what that thing should have been in the first place or simply due to a lack of available graphics. With a solid team behind Mental Omega and its continuous growth, it's high time to stop recycling old assets.

A common complaint in regards to the previous releases, both 2.0 and 3.0, was that the Psychic Tower had been repurposed into an offensive beam weapon which might have been confusing to new players. Expecting a mind control weapon, they got a railgun that added to the confusion related to repurposing and renaming of established elements in the game. Thanks to Nooze we could fix this.

To address this issue, we're introducing the new Inferno Tower, a T2 defense which is Epsilon's equivalent to the Tesla Coil and Prism Tower. It will use a weapon very similar to the Antares' concentrated thermal energy, more useful for hitting single objects instead of groups of enemy units.

To see and read more about other new additions to the mod like the Coordnode, new Missile Bunker, Tigr Truck, the return of original Psychic Tower and new skirmish maps dedicated to Mental Omega heroes, head to our website.

On a less related note, here's a new track I've created for Twisted Insurrection mod: Reaper Raid.

On the topic of tanks, it seems that china does not have any artillery. You might argue that Chinese armor is so tough it doesn't need artillery, but some units like epsilon mind control units and chaos drones are specialized in turning the enemy's strength against it. So running straight into an epsilon base can mess up your army really, really fast. Then again, there is still a chinese T3 unit not revealed yet, so I hope it's some kind of siege unit... or a type of, i dunno, Centurion Siege Crawler?

By the way, I love how there are only 3 subfactions for each facttion, and each one has a unique playstyle; it makes things much simpler and fun. Also, is the Union of Soviet Super Robots (I see what you did there) the same as Russia?

Thanks in advance.

1. There are no Chaos Drones. China's advanced EMP technology is a super effective counter against Masterminds. China also has plenty of units to use versus MC troops.
2. Yes, it is.

Thanks plenty for your reply, but I haven't really seen EMP weapons for the chinese aside from the dragonfly. Speaking of the dragonfly (which I think is way overpriced), how will it work? It can disable enemy units, but can the dragonfly be removed like terror drones?
I'm glad those OP chaos drones are no more.

I noticed the soviets lack a dedicated stealth detection unit. The borillo is way too slow to effectively detect stealth. I was thinking of making terror drones detect stealth, that way they can attack stealthed units too, instead of inexplicably exiting the vehicle when it cloaks again. Or make a support power that detects stealth.

Sorry for the lengthy comment (I have more questions but I figure they'll be answered in time), and thanks for bearing with me. Cheers.

Dragonfly, Yunru, EMP Mines. Dragonflies are deadly if used properly, especially against mind control.

Borillo is an amphibious tank first and then an amphibious transport. It is not just a unit you build to get your troops somewhere, it's basically something that should be in your attack force. Also, it's not slow at all! Terror Drone can't carry stealth for the reasons Graion already mentioned.

Dragonfly is a flying Infector Tank, it'll work just like that. It's justjumpjet and is terribly armored.

I did thought at first that Borillo as a stealthdetector is a BAD idea, but in fact Boriillos are more than useful on the battlefield, because they have a really good weapon as an APC. Not to mention that they are amphibious, which makes them even subdetectors as well.

Not to mention, the thing you mention with Terror Drones is a YR bug and can't be fixed by making Drones stealthdetectors.

Why was the Apoc Tank removed from Skrimish, anyway? Did it just not fit, or were there balance issues? I just don't know if it'd be Red Alert if the Soviets didn't have a super-tank. =[

Also, a question I've had for a while now, why are there so many Country-Specific units?

1) It did not fit to any of subfactions as they are. Simple as that. One tank does not make a side anyway. Also, Tesla Cruiser, Catastrophe and Nuwa Cannon are better than the Apocalypse anyway. They're much more 'super' than the original ever was.

2) This one's pretty obvious: they're subfactions with sets of their own unique features. I wanted to do this for a long time (loved ZH and KW approach, although leaving a vanilla side was a silly thing to do imo) and so here it is.

Well, I hope you will at least keep the Apacolypse all set up in the Rules.ini, so nostalgic people like myself can enable it for personal use. xP

I think you already said you would, but I just want to double-check.

Also, by "Super-Tank" I meant some kind of gritty, heavy-armored, double-barreled Tank with Anti-Air Launchers. The Soviets has always had something like that. (I wouldn't know anything for RA3, haven't played it yet.)

RA3 replaced the Apocalypse Tank's AA Rocket Pods with a Magnetic Harpoon and the ability to squish over any vehicle smaller than it.

Also, Nuwa is more of a super tank than Apoc imo. :P

Easily one of the best, most professional "YR+" mods around. MO is genuinely produced as a "YR expansion", continuing the game's theme and storyline with a whole brand new campaign for all three factions.

While bringing in a few new ideas and a lot of new units for the games houses (without being overcrowded), MO doesn't depart too much from the original games atmosphere - a great mod for anyone who wants 'a little bit more YR'.

Most 1-point reviews are baseless troll reviews. Perhaps their MCV got stolen.

So is this one.
