Nope, it's an engine issue. Voxels don't draw shadows as realistically as SHPs.

While this is true, that does not apply in this case. Due to the shape of Irkalla, the shadow can't be fixed with a single move easily (however if Speed changes from TurretSpins to HVA rotation which usually doesn't look as smooth as turret, by using correct ShadowIndexes, the issue is fixed).

Same applies to Invader as well, but since Invader is a sphere, one could just simply take the widest layer, color it to #0, fix the vpl to render it transparent and call it a day.
