Due to the recent wave of "Mod dead!" and "When is the release?", we decided to release a small article to explain what's going on at present with Men of the Emperor.

This is not the same mod that started in March 2011. The original team has since dispersed and went on to do their own projects or left modding altogether, as of March 2012 the team consisted of team leader ☢SRB-CausesOrange☢, mapper RaZzOR_334 and modeler Chompster with the recent arrival of Luthorian as exporter and coder. With his arrival, it was decided that all old assets from the previous team were to be discarded and the mod started all over again with a new story, new factions and using only models created by our team (which you can find in the gallery).

As such, the current Men of the Emperor: Burning Horizon officially began in March 2012, with the team members written as well as a few more that have since joined to help with other duties, sadly none of them involve texturing although there have been a few texture artists that offered their help with specific models.

We have plenty we want to show you in-game, we just refuse to show untextured models outside of renders. So once again I welcome the help of any texture artist that wishes to help us bring Warhammer 40K into Men of War. Until then we won't be able to release any content for our watchers but work will go on all the same.

Release is a very big word..(to us) the mod wont be "released" for a long time if at all, as we hope to continuously keep adding as much of 40k as possible to it(with releases in between of course)

Short answer: no.

Long answer: for a first release of anything, we really hope to have something before the end of the year. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

not that I have to since, you know, I have the mod and stuff ;D

i'm sure luthorian could give you a better, more detailed answer on armor. but i'd say yes and no. at first we played around with flak vests being actual armor you could equip, but it ended up looking really ugly on the model Moddb.com

So we opted to have the armor be part of the soldiers themselves. Only the helmet and backpacks would be separate items(backpacks in some cases also being part of the soldier model) Moddb.com

As for armor having an impact in battle.. units will simply get more health the better their armor is suppose to be. Easiest way to simulate it.

No plans for a beta but we do hope to have something out this year(not the comment above yours)

No plans for other factions for now(other than wishful thinking fantasizing) IG and renegades are the main focus, followed up by SM and CSM. Eldar would be possible as are any other ranged factions(Tau of course)

Orks however are most likely never going to happen.. sadly.
They require a whole new model and textures which at this point i have no potential or intention of making. They would also require a complete set of new animations for everything they do. Not to mention melee in MoW is terrible.. So as you can see unless some really talented bloke decides to join the team and make all that happen, Orks will most likely never make it in.

We do plan to, but focus is on IG and renegades for now. Afterwards if we have them we'll do SM stuff.

We're focusing on our own made regiment, the 113th rifle, for now for the campaign. All other regiments aren't important for now.

We'll add some skins like the Cadian 8th and maybe some others and eventually we hope to add more unique regiments like DKoK, Tallarn, Steel legion Elysian etc. but those are really far off unless we get the required talent to join the team.
