On the left you have your basic guardsman's helmet, shoulder pads, flak vest, belt and shin guards along with a shoulder pad variant for the medics. and on the right you have the Carapace armor worn by stormtroopers, grenadiers and other higher ranking individuals.

I'm guessing only some of those items will functional as an actually soldier equipment?
just the helmet really, we'll probably include a wearable flak vest for people to use in the editor. but it'll be attached to the actual guardsman
If you guys wanted to, you could probably do the same thing the sintera mod did with attachable armor pieces, where you can put individual pauldrons or leg pads (which function as an armor piece with a health starting at 100) and other types of stuff like lights.
We'd love to, if we knew how to.
Damn, I must say I'm impressed. By the way Chomper are you thinking of doing renegade guard (Forgeworld look) later on if you have time? Considering its men of war I personally thought it would be easier to use as a faction than Chaos marines or other races.
That's been the plan all along, Imperial Guard vs Renegades & Cultists.
as Luthorian said, we already have some renegade assets in-game but not at a stage that we want to show them yet since they'll probably get changed a bit. and we're going for a mix for Forgeworld and the new GW renegade/cultists with a hint of personal touch :)
The personal touch is always what makes cultists stand out :D

I know you guys will hate me for this... but are you planning to model separate torsos and shoulderplates for both flak and carapace armour?
i'm not really sure what you're trying to ask..
both the Flak and carapace torso and shoulderplate armor are in the picture above. they both share the same model the carapace armor simple has additional armor on the wrists, hands, hips, thighs and knee pads.
It was about them sharing the torso and shoulderplate models. Nvm, it's not important.
Oh ok yeah they do share those models only the textures get edited.
So, if I missed a post covering this I am sorry for wasting space, but looking at the armor, are you guys going to use the Cadian Regiments? If not, that armor has a very Cadian look to it. Sorry if I offend anyone, thats just my little 2 cents to put in.
yes we will be using Cadian, but our own made up regiment, the 113th Rifle regiment. we're still experimenting with the colors.
