Men of War is probably the best ww2 strategy game on the market, but it lacks most of all one thing: a skirmish mode where you can have huge battles against an AI player. It is a shame that you have so many units available that you can rarely use in the campaigns. Battlefield mode is a unique skirmish mode, more advanced than those you can find in Assault Squad, whose objectives are the following: • Create a challenging single player skirmish with a great variety of battles. • Build a sandbox to allow inexperienced players to set up their own scenario quickly given a prebuilt map.

Post news Report RSS New patch released (beta 2.5)

I've released the new beta 2.5 patch, containing a major change in the Battlefield Mode resource management. Note that, unlike what I had written in the previous news, the patch is standalone and not cumulative, this mean you don't have to install the beta 2.0 version before the new one.

CHANGES IN BATTLEFIELD MODE:

Now tech points and support points are earned over time, and not given immediately (or removed) when you conquer (or lose) a strategic point. The loss of a strategic point only causes a decrease in the income per minute of that tech category. Once you reach the tech score requirement for a certain unit, that unit is UNLOCKED FOREVER. Of course tech requirements are much higher now. For example a Tiger requires 40 tank tech points. It means that when you reach 40 points it will always be available for you, independently from the strategic points you own. The same is for support points: for example the Tetrarch Glider now requires 20 air support points but, after you reach that amount, it will permanently be unlocked.

I've also released a new map I made called Villers-Bocage. It is a very narrow map full of high bushes which can't be crossed by vehicles with a town in the middle.
