The Cold War was a state of political and military tension after World War II between powers in the Western Bloc (the United States, its NATO allies and others such as Japan) and powers in the Eastern Bloc (the Soviet Union and its allies in the Warsaw Pact). Historians have not fully agreed on the dates, but 1946-1991 is common. It was "cold" because there was no large-scale fighting directly between the two sides, although there were major regional wars in Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan that the two sides supported. The Cold War split the temporary wartime alliance against Nazi Germany, leaving the USSR and the US as two superpowers with profound economic and political differences: the former being a single-party Marxist-Leninist state and the latter being a capitalist state with free elections. This mod presents the player with many Communist and Capitalist nations in a scenario where war has broken out between the Warsaw Pact and NATO/UN nations.

The STG wasnt that rare at the end of the war Germany produced approx 500.000 STG44 during the whole war (Production continued after war, because it whas better than anything the Russian could furnish to the early NVA, VolkPolizei and other, (before the enter of AK47-AKM in mass production). He good exemple is that : Youtube.com (tittle of the video say : Free Syrian Army capture 5000 STG44s)

You have the placement of the police badge on the hats WRONG..It goes in the center part of the hat on the dark green bands not high up on that hat, Shrink the badges some and place them just above the ropes and you'll have it :).

2nd is for low pank police officers (below Unterleutenant) as these chap appear to be the hat ropes would be green NOT silver. Silver was reserved for comanding officers and their assistants in command.

3rd is the uniforms looks to be VolksPolizei Wasserschutz by the coloring you used, They need to be dark bluegreen color not black or dark blue with green accents. Google the uniforms and you'll see what I mean. For low rank officers you use green shoulderboards (upper rank but not yet commanding, IE Corporals-Sergeants had silver trim on them and silver diamonds on some as well)Commanding had silver shoulder boards with gold diamonds as well as slightly diffrent collar litzen (this class got twin green bars in the litzen vs 1 bar)

If you're going for the first gen uniforms (1946-1950) You are close but still off, hat badges are stars in this period mostly,(a few oakleaf badges was used but the center design is diffrent) Collar litzen had small stars on them as well and neck ties was mostly red or blue.

If you'd like I can take you to a forum where you could meet the REAL East Germans (civillians, military, and a few former police) and discuss your mod with them..They would love to help you with uniform design and correct wrongs.

Description

These guys were the police force of the East German state. They will be replacing the generic Volksturm for East Germany. And yes, the Volkspolizei used the StG 44 well into the 50s and early 60s.
