Greetings Dear Old COOP Fans,

This mod's respawn system based on the unfinished coop-oriented TEAM-ASSAULT mod, every other thing is own work (decide that is it good or not). As I remember sadly there wasn't any completed map, because they didn't modify the mapscripts as it needed. For example: there was no working levelchange + there are many original mapscript which don't work in coop. Maybe they hadn't enough time to test the maps, but they could make new scripts for the respawns (similar like we did with the Flagzones in the COOP version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein)

One last thing: cannot say how I hate this game, because with this game started those very-very mindless games, like CoD and his friends. The only reason of my work is the Challenge.

I hate DM games and I very missed this gamestyle from this game. Best gamestyle, when you fight together with your friends against the AI. I hope I could compensating a bit this really big gamefault.

Hello Guys,

As I promised, here is the first 2 Chapters with 11 levels from ALLIED ASSAULT and the full SPEARHEAD with all of its 9 levels. Now lets start to download and let me see those COOP servers, before they kill Gamespy, but pls read the most important information below, before start the game!


- the mod runs from SPEARHEAD only!
- check the video settings for new resoultions and a new Fullscreen button.
- sometimes the dedicated servers blocking (don't know why), if you run a dedicated server, keep one of your eye on it. Listen servers work 100%
- Pickup the large, grey smoke columns to change the respawn zone. (In the previous version I used an ugly green box, but this custom model blocked the joining of those players who hasn't got the mod)
- You'll notice some smaller gameplay changings, because the original mapsripts was designed to only 1 player. (I never knew in general what does this designing means until I start to work on the mod)
- You can choose SKILL levels! (Easy, Normal and Hard) Easy inludes the original enemy-amounts with a lower player-damage (similar like in SP), on Normal you'll meet with 10-15 bonus enemies per map, plus you'll get normal damage. On Hard Skill, you'll face with 25-30 bonus enemies /map and you'll die easier. (so don't be suprised if on Easy skill you'll see 400 health on your teammate)
- You can start dedicated server, with using the attached '_COOP_AA_SH.bat' file. You can modify the linked 'mainta\coop_server_AA_SH.cfg' file to customizing.
- You can play only as ALLIED player! It arrays for those, who joins into the game (they can respawn as Axis, but after some secs they will spawn as Allied)
- I suggest to disable the Friendly Fire, because most of the MOHAA-MP fan doesn't know what does COOPERATIVE GAMEPLAY means. (It's personal experience, which came from the tests)

Installation:
- extract the zip into your 'Medal of Honor' folder. Recommended to remove the othe mod's pk3 files! If you want to play Single Player, remove the pk3 file from mainta folder.

Starting the mod:
- Start SPEARHEAD and go to Multiplayer room.

- to Gábor for his great helps and nice scripts for allied spawnings and health system.

Finally: we had not enough time for deep testing, but every map is well playable. If you find a big bug which causes crash or earthquake, pls write about it here and we try to fix. I know that a professional scripter could make much better mod, don't ask me why wasn't made a Cooperative Campaign mod in the last 13 years for the Medal of Honor series...

What about the future? It depends on 2 important things: the post-gamespy-solution and the download numbers of the mod:))) My personal opinion is, that Breakthrough was the best from the series.

Here is the promised 1.1 version of the COOPERATIVE version for the full Medal of Honor Breakthrough Campaign. Now it's OK for net gaming.

This is a COOP mod which means you can play the campaign with your friends together

I remember playing older versions, your mod is probably based upon, with my brother and even with no danger of failing the mission (players spawning over and over) it was really entertaining. Only real spoilers of fun where missing spawn/teleport points (we always had to run across the whole map towards the firefights after dieing) and not working scripts preventing from completing the map. So if just this is finished along with stable MP code (I believe there are some bot maps working great already, so it might be ok even at this point), I'm happy person :)

Only thing I would suggest: no changes in enemy's accuracy and range and stuff like this. It's anoying when you're getting hit by every bullet of hostile burst from 100 - 200 metres by MP40. If challange needed I would only increase the damage of weapons accordingly to each piece in arsenal (but they're already deadly as you've written).

Man, this needs more watchers! :)

I didn't change the weapon's accuracy and damage, this is the fair way I think. If I can find the way to change them, it probably means I can make different skills for coop.

Nice Idea you have, I wish you luck. I don't play this game anymore, but if this mod if finished, then i might install this game again. And i see why you hate this game a lot. It did pretty much kick-started the COD series. I personally like the original Call of Duty and its expansion pack Call of Duty: United Offensive. The other Call of Duty's though, are pointless.
