Mechcommander OmniTech is a standalone game based on Mechcommander 2 shared source code release by Microsoft. A game based in the universe of a great and fun franchise, a game with lots of tactical components and full of possibilities. There is no need for Mechcommander 2 installation nor disk.
MCO version .424. New skills for your mechwarriors: Weapons - long, medium, short range specialists. (your specialists have more chance to hit) Mech preference - light, medium, heavy, assault. (matching skill and mech class makes your mechwarrior harder to hit) Many new or improved mech models. No more free pilots. You can hire more pilots (and you will have to pay them after each mission). Changed resolution detection - hopefully will fix resolution problems on some machines. MW2 mercs campaign completed with surprise mission in the end... And more...

I have downloaded the game and I can't wait to play it but I am having trouble with the screens.
When I start the game all the menu screens are push over to the right of my screen and I can't get to the launch buttons.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Jay

I'm having the same issue.

Just in case the computer does not recognize what file type it is, type in ".exe" at the end of the file name to get the computer to recognize it as an application.

"the prgrame cant start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
and iv tryed! lol im new at this mod thing and really wanted to play MC2 again. so do i have to download one of the versions?
Just download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable (x86 version).
congratulations for the new release! Thanks for keeping Mechcommander alive!
But..where is this "MW2 mercs campaign"?
It is in 424.
I've got a bug. When I buy two of the same mech and try to assign them to my team, only one of them is added to the team and the other one disappears. It just vanishes.
Great work on the new models anyway!
Got another bug; Whenever I go to "Mech Purchase" and buy/don't buy a mech I am prohibited from going back to "Mech Purchase", the button is unlit.
I am sorry, what are you writing about.
Both of those "bugs" are not possible.
I would have noticed and no one has ever reported anything like this in more then 100.000 downloads of all MCO versions?
Alright, I have done some testing and this is only a bug that I've got (enyone who downloads this mod do not have to worry about this).
The "bugs" that I described in my previous entry (Unable to have two of the same mech and unable to go to the Mech Purchase) ONLY occur when I try to play a custom campign that I made a while ago. NOT when i try to play the official campign or any other fan made campaign on this site. So the fault lies on my end.
...ok..turns out it was just because I had not enabled a thing in the Campign editor (wha wha wha whaaa). Well, my name is Fongon and that is all for tonight's show gents and ladies!
Thank you Fongon.
Care to share your custom campaign with the rest of us?
Mabye, when it is done. Could take I while :P
Btw, is it possible to add your own music to the game or do you just have to use the defult 33 soundtracks that comes with the game?
I have been redirected to this site many times as windows 7 cannot run the micro$oft game Mech Commander 2. I have finally downloaded this game from you guys and it does the exact same thing mech commander 2 does. It loads a black window then vanishes with no explanation.
I already downloaded the micro$oft x86 program as well. Please help.
If the game on launch opens the 640 x 480 window, then stays there for a second and disappears try the following:
Right mouse click on your Mech Commander Omnitech Desktop icon.
Click properties.
Look for:
Target: D:\MechCommanderOmnitech\MCORel.exe
add " /gosnojoystick " :
D:\MechCommanderOmnitech\MCORel.exe /gosnojoystick
And try to launch the game...
Thank you for my response, there is some progress! I did as you said and the game loaded. Unfortunately the game is way out of size for the computer screen. It appears in very large font and halfway off the right side. I don't want to mess with anything else as this is the closest I have got to making this game work. thank you for your time!
How do I ad rain to my level?

I have a question my laptop is way old. It runs on Windows Vista. Will this stop the game playing?

Thanks for the great upload. It took me a while but I finally got it running smoothly. So I just wanted to share my findings in case it might help anyone.
I'm running on a Amazon.com
I had a very annoying Graphics issue to begin with, which was the same through all my MechCommander 2 installations. I tried MC2 with and without Wolfman X patch, Wolfman MC2X, and MC Omnitech 424, and I could not figure out why the issues persisted.
In the end I posted a thread on the MechWarrior Online Forums and I had a bit of help. I've posted all my findings here Mwomercs.com
For those too impatient to read through it. This is what worked for me, after messing around for days, and maybe will help you.
"MechCommander 2 (MechCommander.org original ISO release)
1) Installed it and ran it as Admin (no other compatibility changes, did not delete badcard.csv, vidcard.csv, or anything else)
2) Runs perfectly
MechCommander Omnitech 424:
1) Installed it and ran it as Admin. Still had the same issue as before.
2) Copied the badcard.csv and vidcard.csv from my MechCommander 2 installation folder, into the MechCommander Omnitech 424 installation folder.
3) Ran it as Admin again (no other compatibility changes)
4) Runs like a dream.
Wolfman MC2-X Standalone
1) Installed it and ran it as Admin. Same issue as before.
2) Copied the badcard.csv and vidcard.csv from my MechCommander 2 installation folder, into the Wolfman MC2-X installation folder.
3) Ran it as Admin again (no other compatibility changes)
4) Runs like a dream.
Next I'm gonna try to get the Wolfman-X patch for the regular MechCommander 2 installation to work. That's the only one this fix doesn't seem to work on for me. So I'll keep you guys updated."
This definitely weird but if it works for you great at the same time.
The vidcard and badcard files are from a time ~12+ years ago when 3Dfx Voodoo cards came to the market. The files are used in the code to check on some graphics card specialties. It had proven over years that for almost all modern graphics cards these files are slowing the system to software rendering instead of hardware rendering. I can run MCO as well as MC2 and MC2X on winXP, Win7 and Win8.1 without those files and without any changed settings. Using the badcard and vidcard creates problems here in any installation. That it why I stated it is weird. At the end of the day it is worth a try and if it works in your individual case it is great.
It was exactly 14 years ago. Man,... that game is old and still going.
Yeah. It's too bad the Battletech series never got a big enough following. Otherwise who knows what could have been created. I'm still waiting for a Battletech movie, MechCommander 3, 4, 5, etc. Preferably with longer and more in depth campaigns.
