Max Payne @ University is a Total Conversion modification for the Max Payne game (volume one).
The mod is set on scenery transported from the real life premises and surroundings of the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department a.k.a CEID in Patras, Greece.
The mod's features include the Kung Fu Deluxe Engine, the Enemy Kung Fu engine, some new weapons and has a new standalone story to tell.
The story will unfold through cutscenes, graphic novels and in-game actions of the player.
The mod also at one point will give you a choice to make that will affect the final outcome of the story.
We put a lot work into this mod, it took us almost three years to make and we all hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did making it!

i got one problem though, when i play, at some point (it occured many times) the game freezes and stops and i hear something like an error display (the "TOUB" or whatever) and my sole solution is to restart the pc. i installed the patch, a cd crack in case it was the cd, i disconnected the wifi cable in case it was the wifi who got offline for some reason...i managed to have a longer time of playing, but i still have that problem, any recommandations?

So, about this error:
Do you have the latest official patch (1.05) applied?
Does the error occur in a certain level? Does it occur while playing the official game (without the mod)?
Have you tried playing in windowed mode (adding the "-window\" switch to the max payne shortcut) or enabling Task Switching, so as to Alt+Tab your way out of the game and check the error message?
it occurs at every level, i play for like fifteen minutes, sometimes only 2 or 3, and it freezes, i still have the background music though, but the image is stuck, even if i was in a battle, there are no gunfights or anything, the image is stuck, everything is stuck apart from the music
it happened with the kung fu 3.0 mod, and it also happens with the Katana mod. and i also have the patch applied, when it freezes i cant do anything, ctrl+alt+del and alt+tab dont work. i just have to restart the pc
do u think its the original game/cd that is not working well and i should install the game from another cd or something?
Huh? This is weird. I downloaded the v1.0 M@U mod and extracted it, but there's no MaxAtUniversityv1_0.mpm file in there. Just the ReadMe, the credits, and an MPEG video/audio file. Where in the world is the actual mod?
That's weird. Nobody mentioned such a problem before...
Anyway, the main file for the mod is inside the MaxPayneUniversityv1_0.zip archive. Also, there is no mpeg video audio file in there. Only 3 files: MaxAtUniversityv1_0.mpm, ReadMe.doc and DISCLAIMER-CREDITS.pdf. I just double-checked it to be absolutely 100% sure, cause it's been a while since we uploaded it.

ok i think i can answer that: for some reason (dont know for sure) your computer overheats and sshutsdown to prevent damage to the feed source or your graphics card is just to old or incapacitated to take the graphics on.(and sorry if its bad news but im only telling what i think no offence)
I am not sure I can help you with that. What do you mean by "shuts off"?
If your pc restarts or shuts down completely then it must be some hardware problem or perhaps something overheats (CPU, motherboard, GPU) and your pc shuts down to prevent damage.
If Max Payne crashes to desktop, then it could be because the 2nd level is somewhat heavy. You could try the patch we provide in the download section, and/or lowering some setting from the Max Payne Options Panel (before launcing the game). Also make sure you have Max Payne v1.05 !
i've done everything :( im so very disappointed and i believe its just plainly the mod because normally when i have a big heavy load on my cpu its able to run without shutting off or freezing i tried to put settings on low and run the fix but all it did was make my game freeze i'll try it again
