Homeworld Remastered Collection, the bundled remakes of real-time strategy games Homeworld and Homeworld 2, will hit PC on February 25, Gearbox Software announced today during a panel at PAX South.

The collection goes beyond a simple twosome of remakes: within the collection are not only the Homeworld and Homeworld 2 remastered versions, but the original classic versions of both games as well. Additionally, the developers have merged all playable races from both games and added an online multiplayer component called the Homeworld Remastered Steam Multiplayer Beta, a service in live development designed to bring those once played Homeworld online, well, back home.

Just played my first skirmish against the Reapers and Cerberus. It is a pretty cool mod, and the only problems I could find so far are the ones that have already been mentionend before (AI seems to build only Dreadnoughts, lack of a shipyard to repair damaged vessels, etc.)
There are some optical aspects, at least for the council ships:
1.Some of the textures seem a bit rough if zoomed in on a specific ship.
2.All of the ships are using pretty much the same projectile. Ok, my knowledge is a bit limited since I have only played ME2, and got an outline of the story from all over the internet, including some videos of the final battle on youtube; so I may be wrong. At least I would like to see some Thanix Cannon shots here and there (I guess that is still to come). An other option could be giving the bigger ships two kinds of weapons/projectiles: a larger but slower one for long range and a smaller but faster one for close range.
I have also but some thought into ideas for tech-trees. Maybe for the Reapers, you could the research fields "Directives", and for the Geth it could be "Programs".
I know that this is still a pre-beta and there is still work being done. Just giving my two cents.

Hey this reminded me that the ship caps for the Alliance resource collectors says 50, but stops me at 36. Any reason?
Also, I think Geth should include some research tech tree options along the lines of the divide in ME3 - either research the Creators (Quarians) or the Master Race (Reapers). Also, they should have a tech research option centered around the "Consensus" required to access "personalities" and "resources" from the Geth.
The alliance tech tree should work on a rank system. First you have access to basic units, mostly Turian (since they are the military wing of the Council). Then through some research gain "Rank" or research diplomats for different races and gain access to their ships. Also, Salarians should do the researcch. Krogans need to be included with nukes, turians with ruthless tactics, salarian weird science ****, Humans should contribute Prothean and Reaper tech, and asari biotic somethings...

I think collectors should research on a "Captured Species" basis, where the more "Captures" you invest in the higher your tech level. And blend the Reapers/Prothean tech in there.

Cerberus maybe just total all out "We'll try anything and deal with anybody" research tree. Plain and simple, just everything from everyone.

Just had an idea for the Council tech tree:
How about representing the alliances between the different races through research fields, labeled "Missions" or "Diplomacy". By researching the different tiers of these fields you would unlock the ships; fighters first, then corvettes, and so on; of the non-human races of the Council.
I think this would represent how the Council is made of different races, bound through alliances, reached mostly thanks to Sheppards actions.
At first you have access to the basic human made ships, but you go expanding your arsenal by allying with other races and improving those relations.

hey i too am facing the same problem.
along with this there is one more issue, there isnt a proper description/ name for any map but it shows $9000, $9001 etc..; for classes like alliance, reapers, crebs,..etc something similar number after '$' sign; for the ships almost same name like for alliance fighters (1st class torpedo launcher, 2nd class torpedo launcher 3rd class torpedo launcher and third class topredo launcher...) its pretty confusing...

game runs normal whit teh halo mod
or teh vanilla game
and game close difrent any time
some time wean i am fighting ather time wean i building a fleet thats the weerd thing
els i wud have moor diteld info :(
