State of the Mod: Post Alpha V.1

With our first release and getting some absolutely amazing feedback from you guys, we have begun filling those holes in the mod to really create that level of immersion that you (the fans) expect from us. In this State of the Mod, we will be covering new voice overs to rid ourselves of those pesky stock voices. As well as updated tangent models for our ships (to fix those shadow issues.) As well as give you guys a chance to ask the devs questions regard future development and help shape this project.

Let me be the first to welcome MEDiscovery to the DotR Team. With that being said we have some excellent audio taste tests to share with you guys. Now Cerberus right now is our main priority because they are the most complete. What I have done is uploaded a few audio/sfx clips to SoundCloud to share.

Voice Overs/SFX

Right now the four clips I have uploaded include an updated Mass Accelerator sound effect, Picket Cruiser(Female Voice), Heavy Cruiser (Male Voice), and Cruiser (Male Voice.) This is just a small taste of whats to come though. We plan to do some serious overhauling before our next alpha release so that you guys will have even more fun. For those interested I have included his Youtube channel below where he gives indepth tuts on how to recreate voice overs for almost every race in Mass Effect, some really awesome stuff.

Tangent Maps (Shadowing Fixes)

One of the unforeseen side effects of converting to rebellion was that we didn't anticipate having to do tangent maps. For those who don't know what tangent maps are, they are essentially something that gets attached to a model that dictates how the shadows fall on the model. Most of you noticed while playing the Alpha that shadows don't look quite right. Well we have begun to remedy the problem with some awesome help from Myfist0 of the Sacrifice of Angels 2 mod for Sins. Down below I have included a small example to show exactly how much a difference it makes in terms of appearance in game.

The Difference is night and day, we have been testing in game recently and can't get enough of how much better battles look with the right shadows. So a week out of our first release, we have seen nothing but positive feedback/criticisms. We hope with each successive release that you folks help us find all those little bugs we might miss in development.

Post your questions and Lockerd, Skyline, and I will do our best to answer those questions and get back to you. yea been like this for a while now, been noticing most of the top mods had some form of release to either get there or keep their positions.

this mod is damn good on its merit alone.

I have all week to work on it but its getting on my nerves, also it was Ganna be a secret but I've been wanting to announce it anyways
I could post what I got so far, it's not much but I got most of the sound for it, Cerberus parts almost done . Need some space battle footage to download since I got me3 for Xbox... I got only me1 for pc but I'm using my dads computer for it since camtasia studios is scumbagg

And I'm here to serve lord_set, I'm also helping shock matter with his job lol

Just get a perspective on the Reaper force; how many council ships made up of Frigates, Cruisers, Support Vessels and maybe a Capital Ship (on average) does it take to take down a Reaper Frigate/Cruiser class? 15, 30, more!? Because if its like 25 Cruisers, Frigates etc (combined not one of each) to take down a singular destroyer class that'd present a cool challenge!

Oh but destroyer class reapers can be taken down easily by crusiers or oneshotted by a alliance dreadnought, the case of the SSV Logan during the battle of arturus station

2 dreadnoughts keep their shields down. 3 will destroy one. A dreadnought is about 15 cruisers so you'll need about 45 cruisers to take down one. A Cruiser equals 1 frigate if that frigate has thanix's but normal frigates would be I think 20.

Sounds about right. Codex says a reaper capital can hold off three dreads but with difficulty, and four results in it's death. One or two less for a cruiser or frigate seems right.

Going by that math, wouldn't that mean it'd take 900 normal frigates to take down a single Reaper capital ship? Reapers are powerful and all but I think that's pretty skewed.

according to the codex that is yes, but for frigates they have half the power of a cruiser without thanix even when those frigates have thanix.

but in the mod balancing hasn't been worked on yet.

I heard that frigates with thanix's have the same amount of power as a crusier but is just as strong, hull/shield wise as a regular frigate

yes but they do not have the number of thanix weapons that a cruiser does, not to mention the cruisers main gun.

Actually that is a very good question but I guess the reaper ships (and themselves) would have to stay with the given hp to their class. Cause that would make the reapers OP (Over Powered)
