The reapers have returned from dark space. With Earth under attack and the mass relays in a state of chaos from refugees and the councils fleet engaging reaper forces the galaxy is a mess. The outcome is unknown, the warfare is devastating. The galaxy will never be the same.

Beware scaling it down too much, while it's hard to tell in this picture, the Sins of a Galactic Empire mod used scaling, and for the longest time, even Star Destroyers(1.2km+ ships) were absolutely tiny compared to planets. Realistic? Yeah, but it also made battles very un-cinematic, sadly.

No where near that, simply about 1/3rd of their original size. Keeps the ships from stumbling over each other and makes the ships appear a little more real.

(Thats 1/3rd stock sins size)

Okay, that probably won't be too bad then. Vivid special effects can often negate the size decrease anyway.
What range does average combat between capital ships occur?
Like, where do capital ships and their escorts stop to fight each other? Pretty close, or pretty far away?

Oh thank God you said that. For the longest time I was afraid of the same thing, played Galactic Empire and absolutely hated how everything just turned into a sprite the moment you zoomed out even a tiny bit. Thank you for the realism without sacrificing your beautiful skins and textures.

You know, that could actually be a unique set of planets to have for a special map maybe? A comp-stomp map where you start in Earth's system with all the planets within, while the rest of the galaxy vie for control of it?

There's already a mod for Rebellion with scaled and unscaled versions more realistic planets (including all of the planets and many smaller bodies of the solar system). Maybe use this mod and credit the modder?

Does the Scalling boost the Frames/Sec ? Because it can make Huge battles CPU/GPU and Ram friendly, AND give a tiny bit of Realism, on scale i mean ( Whats the realism on Mass Effect or even Sins ? hehehe xD )

Nevertheless Textures to planets can make all the Difference on Prettyness Factor ( Earth textures, Known planets of Solar system.. Even new Planets like "Sin Plus" or "Infinite Space" mods. Rock, Ice or Terran Giants, Moons, Industrial, Oceanic, Mineral, Jungle, Metropolis, Savanna, Relics, Halo rings, etc etc ) But you guys are already making Suprises on that, my mouth is Clean shut xD

Please dont make ships too small, i think that 1/3 of the original Size is Perfect. The Moons are an Anwsome adition, i cant play without them anymore, its Beautifull to have a Colony having it 3 to 4 Moons in the Gravity well Orbiting it =D.

Another thing, the Mass Relays. Will each planet have one ? Or you make simply FTL drive trips between planets and from Star to Star a Mass Relay to enable trips using Mass effect ? If so.. it would be much better to use Wormholes to this "Trips", you know having a model for the Mass relay without the WH particles, but in the edge of a System, like in the ME1,2,3 Canon. Every MR is on the edge of each System.

Don't know about thw scaling boosting frame rate as I play on a super duper computer and it doesn't make any difference for me. Battles look so much better now and you can still easily see all of the ships but ir still doesn't come close to the realism of true Mass Effect.

Thank you :)

I wouldn't want the ships any smaller. They are looking fantastic at their size now.

In Mass Effect, ships used conventional travel bettween planets in a solar system or quick jumps using their own small ftl drives. When they wanted to travel between stars on a cluster, a local smaller Mass Relay would allow them to jump to any adjacent Mass Relay in its vvicinity of travel. Only one system in the cluster had a main Mass Relay which would allow travel to only one, two or three points of destination and these were other clusters of sytems throughout the galaxy and were muxh further apart.

Sorry if I rambled on a bit but to get the gist of things, wormholes will be replaces by Mass Relays.

Would be great to have a huge battle in the whole Mass Effect galaxy. For example:The player (Council) starts on earth Computer 1 (Council) Starts on the Citadel, then we have Computer 2 as cerberus who starts @ Cerberus Headquarters and then like 3 reapers who starts on different places on the map. Maybe like one in the galaxy core and then the 2 others in the corners of the galaxy, or maybe outside the galaxy like "Dark Space"? I would love to do it like that. Kinda like the Mass Effect Universe. This is all an example but wouldnt it be kinda cool? :D

I'm more into the singleplayer experience, however I might be up for it. We'll have to wait and see. :)

Btw I'm creating a huge Mass Effect Map with Galaxy Forge just for fun, if any of the moderators are interested in taking a look at it when I'm done I would really like to help with this mod if I can. :)

Its ofc without any custom planets etc but its more of a early design, just need custom content later and it could work, I hope!

The game can still apply for singleplayer, just replace the people with the computer.

Sounds good, let me know when your done and if you want I'll take a quick squiz at it. We'll be including non-standard sins planets as well so you may want to modify the map once the mods been released.

Very nice, my lore nazi side is satisfied lol. But seriously thank you for taking the scaling into consideration, it always bugged me on vanilla sins when my capital ships were as big as continents, and the titans were bigger than the planets.

The scaling won't hurt the fighter craft will it? I would hate to miss out on enjoying the excellent models you guys did for them.

This isn't MySpace or Twitter, we're not here to hand out petty insults over semantics, if your opinion is that negative that you have to share it, be prepared to have others not share it and contest it.
And your opinion is wrong...to me, because in my opinion, it's wrong. Either you're new to mod pages and the way constructive criticism works, and that's forgivable, or you're here to troll.

Scaling planets would be much better but i think its impossible within sins engine. Scaling ships and structures down kinda mess up camera even if creator try hard to make it as good as possible (like SOGE)

Yeah, this is a problem I see in a lot of space RTS games. Submarine Titans was a great game in this way, giving an option to have "levels" in which the sub can move up and down as you order it or when the environment get in their way.

Ouch xD plain and simple hehehe. You see.. when you Scale down units, you have to Scale down some effects, and IF there is Aiming in the game, you have to adjust the Variables in this instance.
Not to mention the Buffs of area, ranges, textures and Particles of the Weapon/Projectiles (including Sizes) and other things. Making all the work again, so to speak.

So i undestand his "No". Even so you can do it yourself, just get an XML editor and you can easly change the files, but dont go publishing Shi.. without their Consempt.

Description

One of the most annoying problems since i started this mod is that stock sizes for ships leave them literally sitting on or stumbling over one another. I have fixed that. By scaling everything by 35% we have created an atmosphere of reality with the game by making ships seem a bit more scaled to the environment around them. Enjoy.
