Do it I think it fits perfect.
It is perfect, salarians have the second most elegantly designed ships, also their stealth dreadnoughts are a thing to be discussed about.

I was actually aware and afraid of that when I was working on it.
Don't worry, with my outside perspective I don't think they look terribly similar. They have significant differences in style to seperate them.
ME (and its concept art) came first, so nothing to worry about. No one is gonna bash you for 'copying' off of Endless Space, if they do, just say ES copied off of ME! XP

Cool!! I think it would be great for a frigate maybe a anti-strike craft class.
I doubt they had any real battleships since the salarians relied on espionage and tech to get by.
Maybe a support type frigate/cruiser that disrupts the ability usage of the enemy, maybe recharge rate or temp disable their weapon systems? The Asari seem the type to have support ships that buff your allies, shield/hull repair, range buffs among others. Also this looks like a perfect fit for the Salarians.
Yeah well you would think that the Salarians would increase weapon ranges for a limited time since they are the intelligences behind most of the councils missions..
Don't forget the Salarians use near-ultraviolet GARDIAN lasers with 6x the range of the infrared lasers everyone else uses.

That's why I suggest they have abilities like increased weapon range for a limited time. Since there GARDIAN systems and laser cannons use a lot more power then normal weapons so sustained fire would difficult.
Also A stealth dreadnought would be an awesome addition to the council forces.
Increased heat generation makes sense (remember this mod actually takes heat generated from weapons fire into account), not swapping hardware to suddenly start firing higher-energy laser pulses.
Well as they are a council race the codex says they have dreadnoughts as well, as many as the treaty will allow for at least. In ME3 it mentions that they had actually managed to outfit a full size dreadnought with stealth systems like the Normandy had, allowing it to maneuver for favorable firing positions undetected.
I say go for it.

Asari should have the diplomatic vessel this is probably better for espionage like a scout frigate or utility type cruiser
