No. Animations in Sins are near impossible to do, and highly time consuming, so it has already been decided that no animations will be included. I think there was some speculation in the modding forums about being able to, say, leave off the cover for the eye and add an effect attachment point there instead, and attach a particle effect there out of combat, and attach an 'open' armour particle effect when in combat so that the model itself doesn't have the plating, but it is added in and controlled via special effects instead, though without any experience in any aspect of graphics I could not state how feasible this would be.

I can tell you just by reading that and knowing a little about modding, you would be looking at least an extra 5 months of work and that's without counting life events (like work,school,uni) so I think its better to let them finish the mod and any extra's can be added later.

seriously how do you do this so fast?!? constructive critisisim but, I think It would be better if the eye was open, the body a bit thicker and the legs trailing behind a little. other then that it looks really good! and do you still have a skinner working on the mod?

If I remember correctly Lord_set cut and pastes bits from a single base model/other models; for example, all the large reapers are designed around the sovereign class reaper model which he used as a base but then he's added/resized sections to make a completely new model. All-in-all it means he can chuck out models really quickly which look amazing and gives them a single architectural look which immediately identifies them as reaper/cerberus/citadel.

And as for your second point about the eye, I agree. I think it would be better if the plating was at least slightly open.

Just out of curiosity, is it really a gap between the "shield part" and the legs? From the side view, there is nothing behind the "plate section" with the beamer.

Yeah there is but the plating with the beam emitter on it is a little bit thicker then on the model shown here, that aside it's still a fairly good model
