The reapers have returned from dark space. With Earth under attack and the mass relays in a state of chaos from refugees and the councils fleet engaging reaper forces the galaxy is a mess. The outcome is unknown, the warfare is devastating. The galaxy will never be the same.

IMHO, You should use your older design, I do like them. With this one Cerberus fleet would like an army of different sized clones...

This. The older, boxy designs look much nicer then the more canon-ish (and quite honestly boring looking) designs.

why are people hating on him and the old ship?

Really why do you all have such distaste for the old magnificently designed ship?

for the fact of canon it had a somewhat canon gun design.

it is unique it is elegant, and it screams "PRIVATE MILITARY WHO HAS A LOT OF MONEY!!!" why settle for something that was designed to be pumped out on an assembly line and serve as a strict military vessel with only second of the line materials and equipment?

at least Cerberus has enough money to put top of the line weapons and equipment on their ships.

The blocky ship designs defer with the Mass Effect design philosophy. The ships are meant to to me maneuverable in order to move away from incoming projectiles instead if taking them head on. Mass effect focuses on realism and acknowledges that oversize armored box in not practical in space combat. In short their "unique" style makes them completely out of the place and in some time, will probably ruin the ME them of the game.

Also as told before in real life, navy is like an fleet of different sized clones so giving unique ships damages the realism feeling of the mod.

the bulk is manily a design of character and reality, something that large with 2 Huge mass accelerator cannons needs mass to back it up.

it has its canonical designs with both the gun and rear engines.

even in real life ships have their own design changes. not all ships are the same. take carriers for instance, they dont have nearly any designs like the other ships in their fleets.

nor are the new stealth cruisers, fast frigates, hell even the amphibious craft are different than the others.

why can't this ship be different?

not to mention Cerberus isn't a military and therefor not an official "Navy" in essence it is an Armada.

But, what about realism... Space battleships should designed like a submarines, because of bigger number of cells there will be a bigger efficiency because of better survive-ability.

Ahem, actually the block design makes more sense.

Its stated in the Codex that most vessels (mainly those that are not intended for atmospheric maneuvering) have decks, which I quote, are "perpendicular to their thrust axis." This means that for those standing on a deck their feet are directed to the ship's engines and their heads to the front of the ship.

For a design like this it makes more sense for a ship to be block like as it makes placing systems, corridors, and so forth much more easier not to mention it would be far more easier and cheaper to construct.

The classic Alliance design seems to be a bit ridiculous when this is taken into account.

I love the extra engines !

Crazy Idea: How about adding two extra fangs (Sorry for the poor description) at the bottom to show increased firepower? or possibly make the fangs a little longer?

Much better in my opinion. It's different from the Alliance style of ships, yet retains a similar look as is to be expected of Cerberus. After all most of their plans are from the Alliance and a fair few members are in the Alliance.

personally i would say make the older design slightly more streamlined as it is the most like design but like has been said it doesnt fit too well so work on what people like from both and combine them and see what you get as this should produce a design that people will be happy with due to being closer to canon themes while not being a clone fleet

Maybe add a bit more chunkiness of weight too it so it feels more menacing and looks more like a Dreadnought class.

How about if you're looking to change the style of the dreadnoughts (which I prefer you keep the old models for the heavy cruisers and dreadnoughts as being the standard Cerberus heavier ships style) then make a cerberus variant on the Alliance dreadnought.

Fc03.deviantart.net

Think about how the Alliance cruiser differs from the canon Cerberus cruiser and then think about how a Cerberus Dreadnought might differ from an Alliance dreadnought.

Honestly though, I preferred the old models though. Who cares if other people don't like it. You worked your butt off modeling those and you should see the fruits of it.

I do personally prefer the older designs. They seem more like Cerberus.

One last thing pointed at those who don't like this model due to canotical reasons.

1) having this style gives more variation in ships between factions and gives Cerberus their own "flavor"

2) It stands to reason that we should see Cerberus models start to vary from standard Alliance models. Why? Because Reaper tech is ultimately influencing their technology.

I think that if you´re making a mass effect mod you should go with the more canon designs, but finally its your choice man, great model also but I think you should take out a pair of engines if you´re going to use this one over the other

I'm torn between both of them.
This one gives me the Cerberus over kill feeling, and looks cannon. But but looks off for some reason (maybe the engines).
But the Dread v2 gives me the built to last feeling and I really like it. but probably does fit to well with cannon

I'd hate to lose either

Hmm, hard to say, I'm leaning towards the old design simply because it adds a little variety, I dunno.

Curious as to you what you guys think as to a more canon design regarding the Cerberus dreadnought. Let me know what you think.
