Welcome Modders and Mod users,

I'm trying to fix some of the "uglies" in ME1 and give it the polished look the epic story line deserves. So far I have updated/re-textured: Light and Shadow Maps on walls and floors, Kaidan, Tali, Garrus, Wrex, Liara, Saren, Benezia, Udina, Council, Anderson, Joker, Chakwas, Colonists, Scientists, Keepers, Normandy, Mako, many NPC clothings, Geth ship, volus, hanar, elcor, some armors and default character armors including N7 armor (of characters re-textured). This was Acheived by texture editing (up-scaling, re-painting, adding details, adding textures, adding bump maps, and rebuilding normal maps). Finally, but probably my favorite, I made a new Film Grain Texture to replace the muddy Film Grain with a much less obnoxious ME2 "looking" effect. Now you can keep film grain on and still have a crisp picture.

Requests are always welcome :)

Did you use .tpfs or the installer?

If you used the .tpf you need to apply the low res fix and no render fix to the eyelash texture after installing the .tpf in ME3Explorer.

If you used the installer I will have to investigate further, I just checked my game and Femshep has lashes.

I used the installer. Perhaps I need to apply the low res fix anyway?

Hmm this is strange... what is your gpu setup? Sometimes AA settings and or anisotropic filtering settings can cause this. Make sure you are using anisotropic filtering and turn off AA to see if it helps. But this problem shouldn't happen if you use the installer, but I will test more thoroughly this weekend to be absolutely sure.

Oh yeah, I figured it might and so I already tried turning off AA/AF. No effect though. My GPU is a Radeon 6950

First off, thank you for this excellent mod! However, I'm experiencing an issue that seems to be novel - my character's eyelashes look all wrong. They're solid and flesh-colored, look like clamshells instead of lashes.

I'm playing as a custom femshep. In the menus, the character looks fine, it's only ingame that the lashes are all messed up. Has anyone ever reported this to you before, and if so, does a workaround exist?

Just wanted to report that the Liara Body tpf you uploaded to the Nexus seems to be bugged for me. Liara's scientist outfit textures were glitchy and I was able to resolve it by replacing BIOA_NOR10_08_DSG.SFM with the one from your complete mod torrent.

Update. Had to apply Low Res-fix on HMF_ARM_CTHh_Liara_Norm to fix. Was about to tear my hair out battling with this.

yes sorry for the late reply some textures absolutely need that low res fix, though I've had users argue with me, it is true as you know. If ME3Explorer ever fixes this issue, the tpfs do contain all of the mip maps which the low res fix removes. So hopefully one day we wont need to apply this fix, which will fix a few issue textures and possibly some performance issues on some setups.

Understood. I only had two cases where I had to apply the low res fix (other one was the turian suit in ''udina and the council tpf), the rest of your tpfs seems to have installed perfectly for me.

Wrex and Garrus will be missing textures in game rendered cut-scenes without it, the keepers will me missing the normal map, and there are a few more I can't recall that have issues without the fix some Salarian outfits. But I'm glad you were able to use the tpfs, it's much more involved and a pain than the installer.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll keep an eye out for any irregularities on this playthrough and fix them when I see them.

I have a question, will you ever (or is there a way at all) update relay texture from the loading screen (talking about this one: Img2.wikia.nocookie.net)?

I would love to. I just have not been able to find where this is stored in the files. If anyone knows and can let me know, I will re-texture it, if its a movie I will rebuild it because it drives me nuts as well. I would laso like to touch up the menu backgrounds in the opening menu etc...I have a hunch they are stored similarly and ME3Explorer/Texplorer currently can't access the files.

I don't know how this would help, but the actual scenes are located in BioGame\CookedPC\Movies

Ok I got the files, RAD video tools will convert extract and play the files, now just how to make them look better...the relay load screen is 101 frames of 720p compressed ugly, this will be a challenge. I am looking into recreating it however I don't think I'll be able to recreate the lighting easily in real time 3D :/

I have to say I don't have anything bad to say about this mod. It fixes the only downside of the original mass effect, that is that the textures looked quite low resolution, something I have often noticed (and disliked) when playing through the game. The amazing quality, a lot of painful hard work, and clearly a lot of dedication shown in the creation of this in my mind justifies a full 10 out of 10. You fixed the only thing I did not like about ME1, and I thank you for it. My re-play of the whole…
