Welcome Modders and Mod users,

I'm trying to fix some of the "uglies" in ME1 and give it the polished look the epic story line deserves. So far I have updated/re-textured: Light and Shadow Maps on walls and floors, Kaidan, Tali, Garrus, Wrex, Liara, Saren, Benezia, Udina, Council, Anderson, Joker, Chakwas, Colonists, Scientists, Keepers, Normandy, Mako, many NPC clothings, Geth ship, volus, hanar, elcor, some armors and default character armors including N7 armor (of characters re-textured). This was Acheived by texture editing (up-scaling, re-painting, adding details, adding textures, adding bump maps, and rebuilding normal maps). Finally, but probably my favorite, I made a new Film Grain Texture to replace the muddy Film Grain with a much less obnoxious ME2 "looking" effect. Now you can keep film grain on and still have a crisp picture.

Amazing mod, loving the quality. The way the LOD works reminds me of id tech 5 where when you get close you can see the engine limitations but from a few steps back it looks so crisp. Great work.

I was wondering if there is any plans to create .mod files and an installer (or if there already is one) for a texture overhaul on ME2, or is it limited to Texmod only. I had a look at ME2Explorer and couldn't wrap my head around it.

Got it to work by putting "Large Address Aware.exe" in the same folder as "MassEffect.exe" and then running it.

Yeah I just reloaded it and went right instead of left in the cavern, seemed it was this little tunnel with a Rachni at the end of it that kept causing the crashes (take the right and kill the Rachni from behind and it plays fine) Just got to quick save a few times in that area.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I would really like to use the ME3 Sheploo face instead of the updated one in the current version of this mod. Could someone please write some instructions on how to do that or a link to the file itself and how to install it? I know it seems so insignificant but any help would be appreciated.

Another thing, I have the "shimmering" faces problem with Garrus and Wrex. You actually addressed the issue in the troubleshooting doc but it's not that clear:

"[..]you will see shimmering unless very close to the texture. A fix is to force SSAA (ATI/AMD cards) and SGSSAA (Nvidia)"."

What is SGSSAA?? I'd like to find it in my nvidia options but there is nothing that would made me think its acronym is SGSAA :)

1. CFF Explorer is not related to Mass Effect, that's right. It is used to apply LAA to the main Mass Effect executable(.exe).

2. Yes it is required to apply LAA.

SGSSAA is simply a type of Anti-Aliasing.
Forums.guru3d.com shows the nVidia interface. Apply SGSSAA to only Mass Effect. You need not follow this guide.

I have to say I don't have anything bad to say about this mod. It fixes the only downside of the original mass effect, that is that the textures looked quite low resolution, something I have often noticed (and disliked) when playing through the game. The amazing quality, a lot of painful hard work, and clearly a lot of dedication shown in the creation of this in my mind justifies a full 10 out of 10.
