Taking Doom³ Coop to the next Generation and beyond...

D3 MCS: Mars City Security is a Doom3 Modification that puts heavy emphasis on cooperative gameplay and Next-Generation-Visuals.

The Coop Campaign gametype lets you play through default & custom created campaign missions with up to 4 players cooperatively.

The DemonWars gametype throws players right into the epic battle that broke out throughout the entire solar system after Hell has been unleashed. Fight as a human trying to make a last stand for mankind or seal its fate as a possessed minion from hell...

Mars City Security: A Doom3 Next Generation COOP Mod

Credits to the amazing Doom3 Community members that make MCS possible

-==March 2015 Update==-

Hey folks,

with all our recent talking about netcode and COOP gameplay optimizations we figured that the PVP players among you might start to wonder if there will be a PVP mode in MCS at all and of what quality it might be compared to the COOP gametype.

All we want to say is: "Fear not, for we plan to put the same amount of detail and attention to the PVP modes, as we currently are for the cooperative modes."

And to demonstrate that PVP in MCS is quite some fun (even in its current early stage) we've decided to share some recorded DeathMatch footage from last weekend's testing session...

And for all the tech-geeks interested in the current state of the netcode rewrite, we also share this recorded footage, where we push our new netcode to the limits with an average ~800ms ping delay between the clients and the dedicated server.

In total there were 8 enemy AIs, 3 Friendly AIs and 3 Human Player Clients connected and in constant combat with all weapons being projectile based and synced across the network...

Stay tuned for more updates...

Curious to hear if you plan to get it working with the BFG edition? Noticed that someone got it possible with a couple of mods through its own launcher called RBDOOM3 Bfg edition.

For the time being a port to D3BFG is not planned. The BFG edition is not supporting dedicated servers and is based on substantially different shader technology...

... but then again you never know.

Hi; So, I'm trying to figure out what are the main differences between this and something like OpenCoop or LMS? Could you highlight the major "selling points" for me?

Also, please tell me this will incorporate sikkmod as well as wulfen/monoxead textures!

I would say the two most distinctive features of MCS are the upgraded visuals and the new netcode...

There is plenty of image and video material within all the MCS moddb news articles which should give you a good overview of what to expect with this multiplayer focused project...

And Yes, MCS incorporates a version of Sikkmod that actually works in multiplayer (to my knowledge so far the "ONLY" D3 Mod that has the Sikkmod effects operating in a multiplayer environment)...

So in other words, if I'm interested in playing through Doom 3 cooperatively, this will be the "definitive version" of the co-op campaign experience, so to speak?

Exciting job but I'm worry if it has a marine skin? I mean Sgt. Kelly armor (or default multiplayer coloured skins). It's been cut from all of 1.3.1 allies mods I've tried.

Will we see a release this year? The improved gameplay, nicer visuals, and cooperative focus has my friends and I excited.
