Marooned, from the team that brought you Fairglen: The Forgotten Lands, follows the journey of a man found marooned on an island. He awakens one day to find Pirates on the west coast, and the Imperial Navy on the east coast.

Which life will he lead?

Pirates:
- Quests include bank robberies, pirating, looting, plundering, etc...
- Pirates are natural smugglers.
- Abilities are centered on offensive tactics.

Imperials:
- Quests include trade missions (watch out for pirates!), bounty hunting, rescuing, etc...
- Imperials are in favor with the people, who will give them tips on the locations of pirates!
- Abilities are centered on defensive tactics.

The goals of the game differ depending on which faction you choose... the Pirates have a dark goal, while the Imperials have a light goal.

There are many ships that you can purchase... each with their own unique abilities! The player also has abilities, which differ based on if he is a Pirate or an Imperial.

Combat:
- Ship to Ship combat with special abilities.
- Losing ship can be boarded by the winner, which is when the combat comes to a unit vs unit battle. This is where your hero abilities come into play, as well as any hired henchmen.

More information will be coming as development progresses.

And So It Begins...

News

Tonight, development began on Marooned. Justin mapped out the world and broke it up so that I could begin creating the travel system while he worked on a map for our other mod, Suppression.

We both agree that Marooned will take us less time than Fairglen did (April - October, 2005) since we've learned so much since then. I wouldn't be suprised at all if Marooned came out before Suppression.

Travel between cities is meant to be an interesting affair. Traveling between point A and point B requires you to visit the shipyard, where you will choose among your ships (or buy/sell) and begin your voyage.

Along the way, you will likely encounter pirates, merchants, and others who will either help or hurt you! If you are incapacitated, the enemy can choose to board your ship. It is up to you and your crew to hold the invaders back or you risk losing your ship (I hope you remembered to insure it!).

The same holds true when you incapacitate a ship. Assuming it is actually worth boarding, you will have the option available to you. Defeat the captain, and the riches are yours!
