* Updated to new patch, v1.82

* Norlamins      ... fixed description for "Capital ship labs" researches, to distinguish which
                         research will enable Military labs or Civilian labs
* Replicators    ... "Advanced Launchers" research available with two ties of Basic Launchers research.

Graphics
* Replicators     ... fixed tradeship and refinery ship hub icons
* Replicators     ... fixed mines textures
* Varsai             ... fixed Titan team mesh color
* Trade Alliance ... fixed planet bombing particle effects

Balance
* Replicators     ... reduced the firepower of Replicators Tractor and Thumper Defense platforms
* New Races      ... modified Racial Inclination and Faction Relations between Races and Factions

Abilities
* Norlamins      ... Urvanian light frigates gets shield regenerate ability
* Norlamins      ... fixed Defense Platform "Disruptor force" ability, also included tiered Research
* Norlamins      ... Titan ... fixed ability position mix up ... total control <-> mind dampening
* Norlamins      ... upgrades for cosmic ray collector enhance all of the collectors abilities

Reason, i asked that is that i downloaded and installed both the "Maelstrom v 1.051 R3" and then overlaid the "Maelstrom expansion" on top of the regular R3 and i told each folder to overwrite the regular ones with the expansion stuff.

Now, i just wanted to play a small game to get used to the AWESOME stuff you wrote for each new race.

I started the Celarus Core game with me as the Norlamin and opponent was TEC. The game worked nice for bout 30 minutes of game play then crashed to the error message of "DID I want to send this error to Microsoft" message. I found that to play the game i had to save very often.. like every time i did something new, like conquer a new planet or just making a dreadnought. The game would still crash every 30 minutes or so.

SO did i mess up by putting the expansion on top of the other "full version"? Cause both the regular R# and the expansion R3 state they are "full version".

Thanks for any clearing up of this problem... I SO LOVE YOUR MOD and i want to try out the other new races, but not if i have to save the game like every 5 minutes and do a complete defrag every 30 minutes. that suxs!

I'm not sure if your familiar with the 2GB RAM limit for Sins, but we are all in the same boat no matter how fast your PC is. It is also independent of OS and how much RAM you have, etc. Sins is compiled as a 32 bit program. If Sins+Mod uses more than 2GB's the game will crash.

Try lowering your graphics effect settings (see recommended settings) i.e bump to high or medium

If you have a 64 bit OS then there is a solution for this problem that is bundled in with your download (see readme.zip)

PS: make sure you are not running too many background processes that are consuming your memory

ok, i removed all maelstrom files and just installed the ent expansion full version. it worked for bout an hour then crashed. I did find some things i think are bugs...

1. researching the "Expanded Strike Teams" does NOT give you more strike teams at your hangers defense then the 4 squadrons you start out with. Please fix.

2. you can't "purchase" any levels when playing the Alliance in the expansion version. why not?

also, I used to know, back-in-the-day, which things i could turn off to make a game run better, but now-a-days there is so damn much crap running I have no real idea what to shut off to keep my video cards and track ball running while i'm playing a game like this with your mod.

here is a listing of what's running in my background. Please let me know what i can shut off and still run my ati 4850 cards and my trackball mouse...
KHALMNPR, MOM, CCC, RTHDCPL, LOGI_MWX, SetPoint, ctfmon. the only other things i have running in the background are my antivirus, taskmgr, & explorer. Those i still need.. yes?

thanks for any help and if you have a page where you want the bugs sent to instead of here.. that's cool and sorry for listing them here.

Oh, I have just the ent and just the dip expansion installed and only the ent mod crashes. The diplomacy expansion version is very stable using your recommended setup for both ent and dip expansion versions. Only the ent expansion version crashes using your recommended effect setup.

Not a bug, this is a choice that has been made.

Can't be overly specific ... check how much memory they are using and try to kill the 'tall poppies'.

Post here. Most things that people perceive as bugs are not or are related to the 2GB limit of Sins.

Drop the graphics settings one stage further i.e bump from high to medium.

yeah, i also thought that would integral to the expansion mod or the updated R3 mod.

I didn't see any instructions nor anything that said to "look here" to activate the "sins optimization project". But maybe i missed that.
