A fundamental issue with Sins is that for large maps and late game Sins can slow down to a crawl. There has been a number of strategies implemented in this mod to minimize this effect. By increasing fleet supply and/or cap supply you would slow the game down.

BTW: I wouldn't suggest increasing cap supply as you would further un-balance the game i.e how many caps have you seen the AI build?

yeah, that's true and your one MOD does make lots of the "super-Cap" ships. I do like the fact that playing the Captors (i think that's what they are called) they can capture an enemy's Super Cap facility and then I get some of their super cap ships. That's really cool.

I don't know what ships does that. I'm thinking it's my own Super-cap ships doing that capturing. But it's a really cool thing.

Yeah, I really DO like to work with big maps.. i usually make a map with at least 120 planets and pretty much only use planets that are colonizable.

The thing i'm finding is the "Saved games", both auto-save and my own manually saved games fragment a-lot once i get up to conquering most of the other AI's. I also start out with 9 Ai's against me when i pay. Am I playing too big of a map with too many AI's active?

would it be better for the game if i had the same amount of planets but maybe only half the amount of enemy's? say only 4-5 opposing ai's?

I was thinking of making the Dreadnought factories uncapturable, i.e it gives you too great an advantage, even though its fun.

Norlamins and Replicators Utility cruises have this ability

I would of thought that its independent of game size. I test on Single Random Huge maps and have not come across this problem.

Things to note:
1. You can't transfer saved games between Vanilla, Entrenchment, or Diplomacy.
2. You can't transfer saved games between different releases of Maelstrom (R1, R2, R3)
3. Try deleting ALL saved games and start fresh

oh please don't change the capture-ability of things. i so like that feature.

I don't have many old games. i clean out the auto files from the last time i have played a game every-time i go to load a game up to continue.

Only for Dreadnought factories would the ability be unavailable.

hey, this probably appears earlier in the forum, but every 10 minutes or so maelstrom causes the game to crash somehow. I read an earlier message that my ram needs to be less than 2 GB in order for the game to run smoothly without crashing. I changed my ram to less than 2 GB but the game still crashes. Any way I can fix this?

1. Try the following Effects Settings

* Planet : Detail - Highest
* Ship : Detail - High, Extras - High, Bump - low
* Building : Detail - High, Extras - High, Bump - low

2. Make sure you haven't got any RAM intensive processes running in the background of your OS.

3. You can monitor the RAM usage of SINs in the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) check under the Processes Tab.

Yes you can run 'multiplayer' games.
It should be straightforward to setup.
Check the Sins Manual.
Make sure that you are running the same version of Maelstrom.
