The Maelstrom Mod introduces four new races to the Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion Universe. They are independent of the original races and have unique strengths and weaknesses. Maelstrom is available for Rebellion, Diplomacy, Entrenchment and Original Sins.

New Worlds of Maelstrom
These giant planets have substantial
layers of "superionic water" ice under relatively shallow hydrogen and helium atmospheres. Pressurized ices is the form of supercritical fluids and their surface is composed of large fractions of oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur.
The gravity well of this planet is filled with hydrogen and methane particles. Enemy ships shields and weapon targeting systems are severely effected.

I must be very blind then, as I have no memory of these giant planets. Though I have played every release at least 10 hours or so.

No offense but thank god you finally decided to update the planets. I love the new looks of them so much. Sure the old ones were cool but newer ones add something fresh to the mod.
Haven't updated the planets for some time ... I haven't gotten around to releasing media as I have been too busy ... developing

The "freezing" aura in the atmosphere of the planet it's marvellous.
