The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Is there anything I can do to increase my computer's performance running L.U.R.K? It runs fine with static lighting, but when I bump it up to "dynamic lighting on objects only", it's almost unplayable. I could run vanilla STALKER with dynamic lighting on. I'm afraid to use static lighting, since I wont get most of the atmosphere. Is there any way to disable some of the graphical updates that L.U.R.K has, so that I can run it as well as I can Vanilla?

Thanks

Well, seeing how a big part of the graphical update is the custom Sky4CE shaders given to the L.U.R.K. team, I'd say try tweaking the SkyGRAHPICS_options.cfg file in the gamedata\shaders\r2 directory of where you installed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Try turning off Parallax Occlusion Mapping, or lowering your SSAO settings. In most cases, turning off Parallax Occlusion Mapping really helps to increase FPS.

If you're still having problems, then the only solution I could see is to delete the shaders folder. That gets rid of Sky4CE, which should majorly increase FPS, but doing that will probably decrease the atmosphere.

And if there is still a problem after that, then it more than likely concerns the textures from Clear Sky that are being used. I don't recommend messing with them, though.

Do you mind me asking for your computer specs? It may help me better determine the best method for you.

I think that'll be enough to mess with. Thanks.

No problem. :) I hope tweaking those settings helps.

Deleting the shader folder did the trick. Thanks for the help!
