The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

It's not working like vanilla Stalker? I'm not sure do I understand what you mean but try to take a look at the gamedata folder. Many of the files there are pretty much self explanatory and are easy to modify with Notepad. With just a little bit of logic you can figure out how to make changes to files. |

What I mean is if I try to do something like edit my starting cash, or trader prices, the game acts as if I did nothing. |

The game kept perma-CTD'ing every time I tried to manually change the weight limit.. lol. I'd get to a certain point, the game would CTD, and then when I reloaded my save it would CTD at the exact same spot. Every time without fail. -shrugs- |

Did you change the weight limit in both places (weight_limit) and (max_walk_weight) under actor.ltx, and also in system.ltx? (Just weight_limit there) I chaged it to 2000 and it works fine for me. Edited by: Devj2k |

Yes. I figure the crashing has to do with the modified weight values, because I've since reverted to default and I've not had one permanent CTD. A few random CTDs in random places, but none that were permanent like I was having before. I'll try modifying them again and report back.. Anything I need to be aware of? I.E. do the weight_limit and max_walk_weight values have to be different? Spaced apart a certain degree? I just changed max_weight to 120 in system.ltx and max_walk_weight to 125, since the values were previously 80 and 85, respectively. Edit: To clarify, actor.ltx has no entry for "weight_limit" but it does have "max_walk_weight". System.ltx also has no "weight_limit" and additionally it has no "max_walk_weight" - it does, however, have "max_weight" under [inventory] Edited by: Malikyte |

I mistyped the name of the line, it is not weight_limit like I said, my bad. There is, indeed, a value under actor.ltx for weight limit, it is found here: max_item_mass = 2000 2000 is, obviously, my value. That is the 1st line in the 2nd "paragraph" down when opening actor.ltx in notepad. Unless I'm completely wrong, and that has NOTHING to do with weight limit....at which point I've been changing a value for NO reason...but having no ill effects, lol. I'm no expert on modding, at all, but I seem to recall seeing that all 3 values had to be changed. I don't know if they have to be, but, obviously you want your "max_walk_weight" to be higher or at least equal to your "max_item_mass". I know I've done both higher, and equal, had had no issues. Thanks for the info, I know nothing of modding myself, I'm just a bit of a tinkerer.. Learning by experimentation at this point. I'll try changing the item mass value as well and see if that helps. |
