The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

So, I know there's a file for a G3 rifle, but it isnt included in the game. So I tried to put it in the game. I added it to the weapons list, added it to Barkeep's inventory list, and moved a copy of the ".LTX" file into the weapons directory. I then started the game without a hiccup, went to barkeep and saw a item labeled "G3" with the picture of 2 ammo boxes and the bottom of an AK. I thought to myself "oh well, ill figure this one out later." It cost only 1 RU which I thought was strange, but who cares, ill fix it later. I bought it, went outside to shoot it, it looked like a beast of a gun, and as soon as i clicked (pulled the trigger), the game crashed. So, does anyone know how to make it a usable weapon in the game, or was this put there to tantalize players with the concept of a 7.62x51mm battle rifle in the game?

yeah I'd like to know how to do this as well, especially since the G3 would likely be super-prevalent in the zone -- I know there's a whole "IT'S UNREALISTIC" thing going on, but its no more unrealistic than finding an XM8 in the Zone (which I have), so it'd be nice to be able to add in all the unused guns from arsenal (the Kriss Super V would be amazing too...my favorite gun from Arsenal)

Definitely not sure why people would feel the G3 would be unrealistic to the Zone. Since its been exported all over the world, most first world nations have surplussed them out for newer rifles, and several different licensed modifications of the same weapon, both on the military and civilian market, exist. Hell, I OWN one, and that's not even anything special, because LOTS of people do. So, they obviously aren't too hard to come by. Given that its a hard hitting round, from a robust, if not a wee bit heavy, and somewhat internally complicated rifle, which boasts superb accuracy, I'd say the G3 would be a perfect choice for someone who wished to survive in the Zone. And of course, where there's a demand, men like Sid, and others inside the Zone, will supply :P

But, yes, considering the XM8 never hit full production, I'd say finding one in the Zone is a bit unrealistic indeed :) But not unwelcome, I love the XM8 :)

How about an FN FAL that would be alot more realistic.
