The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Dave, don't be a dick. They just introduced the gun, I'm sure that they're going to work out the bugs in due time.

I also wanted to add a bug that I've found. I'm not sure why you can attach ammo to your belt, or what it accomplishes, but if you put four 2-square (size in the grid) boxes of ammo into the belt, the fifth will crash the game to desktop. It's not a huge deal and I would consider it a low priority bug, but it does exist.

Thank you for an amazing game guys. And I appreciate that you tossed the Mosin in as well. I would like to see it have the scope added, but I'm happy to have a bolt action back.

Are bandit spawns where you guys would like them? I'm playing on hell/master, and I've been coming up against boatloads of bandit groups. After I cleared out the car park and looted some stashes, I happened to run over by the car park again, where I found about five more bandits had taken up residence. No biggie I said, and moved onto meet wolf. We killed some dogs, and then took out another bandit wave that had just reached the house. I ran a few more errands for sodorovich, and when I came back to where wolf was there was another wave of bandits attacking wolf.

We took care of it, and as soon as I was done looting their bodies, another wave showed up. Afterwards, I started to head north to go to the garbage, and just as I start to approach the checkpoint, another four bandits start to move south.

Yeah, this is something that needs to be fixed. We noted this on /v/ a couple of days ago. An anon managed to explain what's going on, saying that LURK uses some altered script that allows NPCs to roam around. Problem is, when bandits spawn, they all tend to head downwards, with most of the time clearing out the loners in the areas they come across. There's a supposed glitch where the engine will mistake bandit groups as dead if they move far away enough from their spawn points, so it spawns even more bandits.

Eventually, they'll take over the areas where the loners are because they'll instantly kill any respawning loners.

So in the end, what you'll end up with is BANDIT SPAM.

I myself noted that I ended up with 4 bandit groups coming out of the Agroprom area into the garbage, along with a military group. Too many bandits and such if you ask me.

I get a graphics glitch when I open my inventory. Basically all the items (medkits/bandages/food/ammo) get replaced by graphics from guns/suits. Partial graphics that are broken. And all the guns/suits get no graphics and are empty spaces. I downloaded this mod from a torrent online, so it might not be recent. I am currently downloading it from this website and will see if it fixes it. Any special instalation instructions i should know about?

Hey, Rye, I guess you would've noticed by now, like, as it was written almost everywhere out there, but they -took- the guns from other mods and just made 'em look better.

The scope -WAS- in the original version, it just won't work on LURK.

And trust me it'll fuck the entire game up so do -not- try anything with it untill they fix it.

On a side note, I freakin' -LOVE- the new shotgun animations, finally something old school...

While the colour-coded armour values in the descriptions seem to be working, there is a whole line between each so it takes up more room than is necessary. There are also no values in the leather jacket description.

I get the same problem. I downloaded mine from the link on this site ("full version").

Yes, maximum. Unless there's another hidden setting. I have also tried setting to maximum and restarting the game, still says it's at max settings but the error persists.

go to 4chan.org, then to the videogames board. Stalker threads, pretty much all about LURK, are there periodically. If you don't see one inititally, refresh the page a few times.

I noticed something when I decided to clear out the military beneath the train tracks in cordon. By standing on top of the train tracks, I was able to successfully shoot and kill all the military, but they were unable to target me. When I stopped kneeling, they could all target me, but by crouching I could take them all out harmlessly. A similar bug occured when I started to kill bandits near Wolf's house - I was kneeling, shooting out of a hole in the roof, and though all the bandits had their weapons trained on me, none of them took a shot.

This tends to happen when there's props or sprites blocking the way, the same appears to happen when you stand in a bush or behind a tree leaning into a bush. It's kind of odd.
There must be some invisible layer obstructing view to make the new coded AI think they don't have a clear shot.

Yes. Even if I had unrar'd both parts of the archive it wouldn't matter since the first set of extracted files would be replaced by the exact same thing.

Extracted "L.U.R.K. - Version 0.9 - Full.part1.rar", moved "gamedata" to SHOC root folder, deleted "config" "shaders" "scripts" from "gamedata" in SHOC folder, extracted/overwrote "gamedata" folder with new files from "L.U.R.K. Release Candidate 1.0551.rar". Added -noprefetch. Increased Texture detail.

Similar process using only "2009-09-29-L.U.R.K._RC_1.05_Full.rar" results in the same graphical errors.

Yes, because extracting part1 has the same effect as extracting part2. Like you said, they're essentially one archive. It doesn't matter if you extract part1 or part2, the whole thing gets extracted.

Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

I get dramatic FPS drops in some areas, notably the Bar, the bandit camp in Dark Valley, the rookie village and the bridge at Cordon. I've noticed the console keeps repeating this error message:

DetailPathManager has failed : from [46.899994,0.057312,6.3000491] to [49.000000,0.083902,2.100037]

This is really annoying, I have installed correctly as detailed in the readme. RC 1.0552

^ same for me, but only at the bar, seeing it spams a shitload of console messages, as mentioned earlier in the thread.

But the slowdown is only minor (I guess it really does matter how fast your comp is or something, I don't know.)
People are getting alot of mixed messages, but one thing is sure, that the bar and bandit/Freedom camp is screwed.

I believe I figured out why my inventory icon graphics are messed up:
The ui_icon_equiptment.dds file that the game reads the graphics from is normally only around 2048x2048 pixels, but the lurk version is twice as wide, at around 4096x2048. I compared the images I was getting in game with the location of the real item and it appears that my game is only using half the width of the actual icon set.

Is there a way to make the game use textures greater than 2048x2048? Probably through a command line switch. Increasing the textures slider ingame doesn't help.

EDIT: Video card apparently doesn't support over 2048x2048 texture size. Lame.

Has anyone noticed if the textures had a limit. I mean now i know that im not alone this can start being a problem for others. Anyone put up what resolution and texture detail is at?

-The AKMS (with the wire stock) weighs more than the AKM (with the full stock).
-Bandages weigh 0.2kg each.
-Weird lag spikes in the garbage hangar. Kinda went away after clearing the area of bandits. Returned after I changed levels. It doesn't help that LOTS of bandits spawn there whenever you leave the level.
-As long as they don't see or hear you, and they're already in combat, AI won't even notice you shooting at them.
-The RK-95 has a world model (when you drop it on the ground) of an AK-74. Or is this just the one found in Strelok's stash?
-There seems to be no functional difference between the 3 stamina artifacts.
-Bloodsuckers are overpowered! :)
-The change from "night" to "day" (around 3:30am) is VERY abrupt. I was sneaking around while the military and bandits were fighting in Agroprom, and by staying out of their flashlights I was able to sneak around fairly well. However, when 3:30 rolled around the bandit instantly turned and pegged me with his pistol.
-The spawn point for enemy AI is often right near the level changer, but not past it. This leads to a lot of situations where enemies spawn right on top of you and blow you away before you know what happened.
-The L85 reload is missing the sound of the charging handle.
-Bandit armour and leather jackets can be sold to Stalkers for their full price. I'm assuming this is a bug because other suits are untradable.
-Please lower spawn rates. It sucks to clear out an area and have it re-filled with enemies in a day or less.

Are OL's spawns being used? There are two bloodsuckers in the underground, and a burer spawns when you grab the flash drive. It all seems kinda familiar...

Also, can we possibly get a "confirmed bugs" list? I think it would help prevent people posting the same bugs over and over.

It must just be the one in Strelok's stash. The RK-95 works fine when I test it.

That's a good idea, but chances are it'd quickly get hopelessly outdated. I'm having enough trouble just keeping my own internal buglist current.
