Us here at Refraction are focusing on this map constantly, fixing little errors there are to get a good, working map out to the Starcraft 2 Community.
Currently, testing has been good, we have received Positive feedback for the map so far, at the moment there is not any Abilities for the heroes but all units are in place and the main content of the game runs smoothly.
Hopefully, it will be later this Month, maybe mid August when we release our first BETA version.

Why not use WarCraft 3 models and skins. I believe there fully convertible.
It would be great to make Lotr mod and use some Lotrbfme2 models.
Would be great, but blizzard would remove the map for Copyright laws.
Is this a usual map or there are some custom models?
for the time being, its only normal units. but nothing overly unrealistic.
well i like the map but u mis placed the cities and u made the terrain wrong, jus tellin u but dont scream at me jus tell me if ure gonna improve it
The way the Cities are placed are strategically placed to make it even, but look good instead of having good on the left, and evil on the right.
played that map on sc2 did not like it
This map is not released yet on B.Net. There is another one made awhile ago, that one i played also.. It is horrible.. Very bad.
reminds me more of the war of the 8 kingdoms map for starcraft 1 rathar than the war of the ring. the locations are quite off but as long as the game ends up fun i dont think it will really matter all that much after all. perhaps you can change it so everyone starts off alone so that way it turns into a diplo lord of the rings since there are already several war of the ring maps out there right now. LOTR diplo would be fun in my opinion! ;D
