Header

Once there was a place where the past and the present met in brutal confrontation. Man felt he had controlled it, had contained it, and began to understand it. But the forces of nature were never meant to be controlled, to be contained. Or, it seemed, to be understood. Until now.

A Japanese research ship is stranded on an unknown island in the Atlantic. Time and tide have laid waste to the barren facilities there, once built to contain and study the most fantastic and terrible lizards ever to have existed. Welcome to the age of the dinosaurs.

Jump back in time in an adventure that will intrigue, thrill and terrify you. As hired mercenary Johann van de Beer, you will fight to protect your friends and confound your enemies. As Dr. Saskia Brezhnev, you will learn to understand this ancient land and find clues to solve the mystery of what really happened. Together you must survive as you dodge gunfire, careen through lush forest and face the most fearsome creatures to have ever walked the Earth, in this action-packed adventure.

The playable member of the science team is Dr. Saskia Brezhnev. She is a brunette, fairly plain and was born in Albania, 27 years ago. Her abusive military officer stepfather is the reason for her mistrust of soldiers and how she was schooled in the UK. She flourished, particularly in biology, and went on to study the little-known science of Behavioural Palaeontology at Oxford University under the once respected, but then ridiculed Professor John Hodges. She saw him as a father, and when he disappeared, it encouraged her passion for the subject, longing to live up to everything he had expected of her. She got her PhD and for a few years struggled to find funding for her own research, after she had given up on commercial enterprise as a merciless, money-grabbing undertaking, lacking a real scientific ethos. And so, short of money, and curious of the adventure, she has decided to accept IDEAHAMA'S offer of documenting anything notable found on the island; despite the fact she is not sure why she was chosen over other more experienced peers.

The male playable member of this team, and its leader, is Johann van de Beer, a 42-year-old South African. He was trained by and fought with the South African Defense Force, but left his job and South Africa very suddenly after his wife and two children died. The official story was that they contracted Lyme disease while Johann was on an operation. However, the delicate nature of the work he was doing led him to believe they were murdered. Broken, it is believed he took measures to exact his revenge before fleeing the country - as much to escape painful memories, than out of fear for his own life - although no one knows for sure. Much more is known about him since he left - at least within the world of mercenaries. He joined the French Foreign Legion, but was not there for long, not wanting to stay put. He moved from job to job, working for different governments and factions. He gained enemies, as well as great respect from men he fought with; and while he remained fearless of the former, the latter made him no less lonely.
