It has long been a fan wish to be able to roam the island freely. That has always been the main goal of this mod : to allow the fans to go back to the island, the WHOLE island, and be able to explore it all. My online name is yung23, and I have been mapping the LOST island on and off since 2004. Using the Sandbox2 engine I have nearly completed the LOST island in ONE level. Due to the size restrictions of the program, the island is roughly 8km x 8km but I wish it could be twice that size to do the LOST island justice. I am currently modelling and texturing most of the LOST locales, using screencaps as reference. This mod has been in production on and off for years and is thee first LOST mod in existence. My plan has always been to model all of the locations seen in the show and present them in their most likely locales on the island.

PS.. IF anyone out there has the ability to export from Maya 2009/2010 to Cryengine2 WITH VERTEX SHADING WORKING.. please let me know.

I cannot get my exporter to work right so any vegetation I have made will not blow in the wind in-game...

I'd be thrilled to pass along my vegetation work simply to be exported for the mod...

I do not wish to use Cryengine 3 anymore. it would be too much work to get all the vegetation from Cryengine 2 into Cryengine3 with all the physics and such.. unless someone knows a way to do it better.

I recently moved the objects folder from cry2 to cry3 and they will load as brushes but they are all out of wack and non destructable.. and dont blow in the wind..

its not too far into development, but I do now have plenty of assets nearing completion. I have been using the cryengine2 thus far and its great. I think I rather max out Cryengine2 and use all its lush vegetation as is.. but I do have some of my own vegetation I want to use in the game, ie bamboo, ferns, palms, banyan trees and the main LOST beach tree.. but my vertex shading export does not seem to work..

IF I was to begin using CE3, Id first have to get all the vegetation from Ce2 into it, but it would allow me to then export to CE3 because there seems to be way more support for CE3 than there was for CE2 and the exported from what I hear, exports vertex shading.. PLUS.. editng the player CDF is wayyyyyy easier in CE3... and CE3 maxed out and updated correctly would allow DX11 AND 3D rendering.. I am debating which engine to actually wrap this mod up in.

CE2 - needs vertex shading exporter to work
- I need direction on how to alter the player model
- I need to ensure CE2 is maxed out to get the best quality possible
(whether it be a custom config.sys or a terrific TOD)

CE3
- simply needs all the vegeation and assets, terrain textures from CE2 properly imported and working in CE3

Well... Instead of putting it another GAME engine... How bout put it in an engine like UDK where it is, it's own game... Sorta

I may be trying to complete too many props and such.. I cant seem to focus on one thing anf find myself nearing completion of many things..

maybe I should release it in pieces so that I can simply finalize locales step by step and locale by locale.. then add them to the mod as a whole as I finish more..

I have the FourToes Statue as a broken foot nearing completion.. as is my Looking Glass, Beach camp, The Lighthouse.. The Barracks...

This is Christians shoe for now.. I want to place this near the beach in Bamboo..
