since i barely sleep these days, trying to finish my thesis, and bind it, then send out till Monday morning... decided to share some fdl screenshots with our best fans :) especially thanks for those, who voted for us!

Do you have storyline plans regarding the zombies ? There must be dozens of interesting ways of explaining why they're wearing uniforms/pajamas (in fact they look like concentration camp prisoners, which is quite disturbing)...
By the way, this zombie skin is not so good : colors are too intense (clothes too green, skin too pink); faded colors would be preferable i think.
Skin too pink you say? Looks brown to me. I reckon its rather suiting, after they aren't human anymore. I don't see anything wrong with the model, particularly on full screen.
Sorry, you're right for the skin : it has nothing wrong in itself ; it's just that it's brighter than in the other zombie skins, and it stands out a little too much in a group of walking corpses.
For the sake of variety changing clothing color is good, but i still think that the green is too intense : the uniform is supposed to be worn, old and washed out.
But anyway don't mind me, i'm something of a nitpicker...
With other zombies I think you have a point there. The scene above its perfect but maybe its clothes is very strong. But maybe it is due to standing in the light. But who knows! We will just have to wait and see.
Thesis? Get out of here stalker. I smell artifacts! Also, these screens are sparking a huge debate with myself weather to use Dx8 or dx9. Both look great.
I think originally these zombies were civilian workers in the Zone. Either cleanup crew or staff in the secret labs. Possibly test subjects too.
2 Questions: Do controllers actually control these zombies like GSC planned? And can the zombies die or will they just keep getting back up like originally planned?

BTW I like glossiness. When I play any stalker game I crank the gloss_factor up to 11.
Guys make the best picture ever! Don't bother about our video cards and PCs that's our problem. I mean if you afraid we will have problem because of R2s and DX9 features don't bother ok. (My PC will take it at all) :P
Yea your PC will but a lot of people won't, and so the original stalker wich ran at much lower quality will still be unplayable to some.
I would really appreciate if the static lighting thing would stay so my framerate issue isn't going to be al crappy.
Also grpahics seem more plastic and shiny than in real life
with all the max settings and FDL, please keep static
Just hoping this game is going to be playable for nearly everybody who could play SoC on max without the FDL, it is mostly the Framerate and objects wich take a shhload of calculation, wich makes combat frickled and less fun
Dez0 and team however are trying to give everyone what was originally ment to be Stalker, yet if it means compromise because of system crashess so be it.
I dont want you to hate me, as ussually. but ... that light is not correct ... shadows are too sharp and too contrast. Like In doom3.
In real life there would be lighted area, with very blurend and soft shadows from that "cage" around bulb.
This looks like small nuclear explosion. Because only that could produce that strong light to achive that amout of contrast.

thats correct, but in la, we use r1 static lights in r2 (r2_allow_r1_lights command) otherwise there wont be light at all in fdl mode, and if we set it softer, then it wont be visible in r1, or just barely. now 2 shading mode shares the same light :). plus as i mentioned these are old shaders from a 2005 dx9 testbuild, which wont be included in final release. with the final shaders its much better.

There are toooooooooooooooooooo... Sharp shadows! It's unrealistic! It's like lamps are 1000 megawatts! Please make soft shadows! I hopes You'll try that)
If there are problems withh choose of shaders for SA or FDL make "minipatches" - if you wants to play on static, drop files from "static" folder, if in fdl - ude "fds's" folders files
its not about those shader files, as i wrote above, now r2 uses static lights, which are precompiled into the level, so its not possible to change that with some external shader files... we will try something, if it will work, i will post response.
hm in 1935 built STALKER had dynamic lights.... I remember when I shoot at the lighter then it got moved and light changed its direction. It was is R1 I guess.... or R2 maybe. Will it be in your mod or you will leave ONLY static on all settings and we will not able to turn it on even via console? thx
The zombies sort of look like asylum patients. I wish they could move faster and faster each time they're wounded so the chase becomes more fun and dangerous.
Also hope they change the sounds to more frightening ones. Those old groaning sounds are abit meh'ish. Not bad but need something scary in between.

That is some nice shadow going on there.
I like the render but:
In some very dark shadows and sharp. Therefore, the floor-ceiling and walls of the shade so it seems to be painted with black paint. I think, need to be soft shadows. Regards ...

Soft shadows? This is not the CoP engine :P
OMG even if you dezodor will include those shaders in final version (I mean this plant underground level) so then it will be ok because you can say like - this is the post effect which is being used for more atmospheric view because player is being closer to plant's core so then radiation will cause such post effect like sharp view.
Just my opinion. Anyway I hope it is will be some post effects because 4AEC underground should be strange and scary place!
What the hell with shadows?! Why they are so f***ing DARK!?!
Old-school R2 is just a perfect thing, I might say ! Those bloom & gloss shaders... they are veeeeery beatiful !!! Dez you`ve did very nice job about renders! And, please, make na open locations more dark on R2 !!!
