here are some Full Dynamic Lightning (R2 only) screenshots of Lost Alpha, with Cromm Cruac's Atmosfear weather. Screens speak for themselves. Please do not pay attention to grass shadows, it was tested only with old bins, and we are not yet sure, if we can restore it. :)
NOTE: before someone would start an useless hysteria wave, we keep our own made weather cycles too + add Cromm's 6 new cycles, and that will change dynamically, so those, who wanted to see the old classic (soc vanilla) skyboxes, they can see them, nothing was removed, just expanded :)

Yesterday I was taking a ride with train to another city through huge Industrial district, and tried to memorize all the details, buildings e.t.c. because I am working on a huge level for UT 3, I try to recreate our Country's abandoned industrial landscapes and hell yeah, this is exactly how it looks like, what I've been trying to create :)
You're not making it an easy choice, but I'll still stick with r1 for old-school betaliciousness.
I'll stay with R1 too but will use atmosfear
you can stay with r1, but from now r2 looks also good, plus our classic weather is included in r2 too.
I'll see and try to play with R2 and see if it's too bright, if it's too bright then i'll just mess with the files to make it look good for me
That's what the gamma/contrast/brightness sliders in the options are for :)

So how are your framerates when playing in r2? how does it handle the bigger levels like your darkscape remake?
no idea, didnt check yet, but it runs fine on 1920x1080 and maxed settings (probably over 30fps on my old e8400 cpu, 4g ram and ati hd5770 vga)
