I personally don't think these scientists should have a hunting rifle like that, western pistols and sub-machineguns seem more fitting IMO.
I wonder if its possible to make those visors on Enviromental suits specular. I remember some old old screens it was reflecting some kind of env map

Even if some persons seem to be disappointed when they look screenshots, I can say I'm waiting this mod like a new episode from GSC.
I think it's too early to tell if dezoteam failed. We have to play some hours of LA before being critical.
What is it exactly that people fighting (everyone vs. Vincent) about? That the mod looks like COP? Is that a bad thing? I always liked the updated x-ray engine in COP and would love to see some of those features in SOC. I may be the only one here, but I really don't want this mod to look like something from 2004. To me, it's all about making the game more like the original concept, and have a better storyline, levels and what not - not to look like a game from 2004.
STALKER can look wonderful with proper textures, shaders and so on... The engine should be pushed to the limit when it comes to visuals, NOT get to look old.
Again - I might have misunderstood what the entire fight was about.
I'd say there WAS a trend with STALKER game series that an improved graphics ate away from the atmosphere (mostly seen with Clear Sky vs. Shadow of Chernobyl, CoP got the balance back again, IMHO). But it's in the past, LA is nothing like that - it has both breath-taking landscapes filled with realism of light-reflecting surfaces etc. AND the dark, gloomy atmospheric, non shader-overused scenery of dez0lated Zone, the way I see it the best.

Looking good, I always liked the asphalt textures from Clear Sky with their bump mapping, just hated that brown filter over everything, and these textures look even better.
