When selecting the faction you want to play as in either Galactic Conquest or Skirmish start by clicking the down arrow, next click and hold the mouse button while the cursor is over a faction, then while the mouse button is still held down use the mouse wheel to go up and down until the cursor is over the desired faction, then just release the mouse button while the cursor is over the desried faction.
