Life’s End is a Half-Life 1 mod I released in 2005. I’ve made this page for it now because some one else tried to take credit for my creation, and I want it clear that I am the guy behind it. Thanks to all those who stood up for me! Life’s End was my first release and quite a learning experience. It looks a little crude, and I’ve improved a hundredfold since then, but I’m still immensely proud of it ;-) In Life’s End you play as Luther Johnson, late to work on what will be the worst day of your life - because Luther works at Black Mesa. And it’s the day Gordon Freeman’s experiment goes wrong… You’ll visit new and familiar areas of Black Mesa, and go far beyond.

Urbanebula's right: "Apologise" is an accepted spelling of "aplologize" in the UK. And there was never supposed to be an exclamation mark after "They're watching you."

Half-Life123, I know you mean well, but I think the spelling is good enough as it is. It's not perfect, but neither's the mod.

Does it really matter?

Also, don't assume apologise is spelled incorrectly. The creator of this fine mod is British.

And there should be periods between HEV, and AD should be after 350 and 2018, and the time should be 08:51 AM, not 8:51AM, and there should be no periods at the end of the text, and time-portal should be time-porter.

But once again, nice job, and I would appreciate you re-uploading the file. Thanks.

8/10 on the revision.

It's close enough. I've played full games with worse spelling than my little mod even before the patch. The notes left around by characters in the aren't meant to be written formally and perfectly. The dim-witted security guard's log isn't gonna be written with the precision of an English teacher writing up a formal report.

I really need to play through this again. :P

Also, if I were to throw together an SD model pack for this, would you mind adding it to your downloads?

Not at all - that would be very much appreciated!
As long as all the animations are included, of course. The dancing scientists and a couple of other scenes don't work with the defualt Blue Shift HD models.

I was actually going to go for the SD option and use the PS2 models by Ambient.Impact

However you're right. While the animations do work with the PS2 models, they haven't been rigged up properly so everything warps all over the place! D:

If I can come up with a solution I will let you know. :D

What version of Half-Life are you using? If it's not the Steam one (which is automatically updated and thus fine), then make sure you've got the 1.1.1.0 patch installed.

I'm glad you've enjoyed it!

It's always nice to see a perfect mod out there. And this is one of them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The game has its own new character, set during the incident at black mesa. It's fun to see G-Man and Gordon Freeman pop-up in the story once in a while. And the story has a nice twist in the end. The fighting is nice and balanced. The maps are easy to navigate and not too big and maze-like. The puzzles are simple and not to difficult (usually it's just a 'go fetch this' quest). The…
