Life’s End is a Half-Life 1 mod I released in 2005. I’ve made this page for it now because some one else tried to take credit for my creation, and I want it clear that I am the guy behind it. Thanks to all those who stood up for me! Life’s End was my first release and quite a learning experience. It looks a little crude, and I’ve improved a hundredfold since then, but I’m still immensely proud of it ;-) In Life’s End you play as Luther Johnson, late to work on what will be the worst day of your life - because Luther works at Black Mesa. And it’s the day Gordon Freeman’s experiment goes wrong… You’ll visit new and familiar areas of Black Mesa, and go far beyond.

I got rid of those random quotes, and I undid the changes I made to your mod! By the way, I do like the spelling fix that you put up. Yes, I did post the installer, but I included it with the ORIGINAL file. And no, it does NOT still have the changes I made to your mod.

I'm sorry I made the installer without your permission, but may I have permission to make an installer to post on your page and to put it on a CD?

No, you can't put up an installer, especially not one where you've made your own changes to my mod. Also, the zip I've got up is 22mb, while your installer is 43mb. Why is it so much bigger?

You can only put it on a CD for your own personal use. Don't try and sell it, or make any money from my creation.

Why should I stop adding downloads to your page? I made a perfectly good installer for Life's End that installs the mod for either the Steam or WON version of Half-Life. I just wanted to make it easier to install the mod.

But you'd made changes. The titles.txt was different (NOT an improvement... you added a few random quote marks, wrongly) and I don't have time to mess around and see what other changes you might have made to MY mod without my permission. So I took it down.

The zip has worked fine for almost six years. I have never received a mail or message from anyone who couldn't figure out how to install it in either WON or Steam Half-Life.

It's always nice to see a perfect mod out there. And this is one of them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The game has its own new character, set during the incident at black mesa. It's fun to see G-Man and Gordon Freeman pop-up in the story once in a while. And the story has a nice twist in the end. The fighting is nice and balanced. The maps are easy to navigate and not too big and maze-like. The puzzles are simple and not to difficult (usually it's just a 'go fetch this' quest). The…
