Ripped Tank (Life's a Beach)
Jun 23, 2012 Players Skin 2 commentsThe Ripped Tank will feature in the Left 4 Dead 2 campaign Life's a Beach along with re-skins of all Special Infected and brand new Survivors

Life's a Beach is new campaign set in the sunny beach town of Rio Sierra. Players will take control of 4 new survivors in a story that takes place after the events of L4D2. Our Survivors (Ryuji, Jay, Kelly and Morag) find themselves trapped on a crashed cruise ship filled with infected hordes.
Over the course of Life's a Beach players will fight their way out of the ship and through Rio Sierra to discover a secret that could bring about the end of the infection.
Prospect is aiming to provide players with a fresh experience with a variety of new content including:

Long-time no post! I have good and bad news and will start with the latter: Life's a Beach is on hold for the time being and has been for over a month. My aim with Prospect is to make games but doing this as well as a large project like Life's a Beach isn't feasible. So we are putting this project on hold with the hopes to return to it at a later date.
The good news is that along-side already completed and available content (like the SI skins) we are releasing a survival map adapted from the campaign called "Raise". It's taken a fair amount of re-organizing to do this but we are close to releasing this for public Beta.

As the green flu epidemic grew out of control the corporation "Raise" managed to create a cure, unfortunately it was too late to mass produce as the infection spread. 4 survivors have discovered this facility and will stop at nothing to get in!
This map was originally a later part of the Life's a Beach campaign but works as a survival experience and was the most obvious section to adapt. Players will find themselves slowly advancing towards the facility while holding off constant waves of infected. We have also created laser grids and auto-turrets to help survivors defend which creates new and interesting tactics!
You can view screenshots of Raise below and in our gallery here

You can also check out the l4dmaps page for Raise here. We will have a beta for Raise releasing very soon so add us to your watch-list to keep up-to-date!
I want to give a huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to and followed Life's a Beach since our first update in February 2011. Everyone on the project has learned so much and it's been a very positive experience. It was a tough decision to put LaB on hold, however it is for the best. I'm excited to show you what Prospect is working on and will start providing updates in the coming months.
Thanks for all your support,
- Andrew Bennison

Reply to Dr.Doozer: Possibly an older woman e.g. 30-38 years of age but not an old old one, old people would have the lowest survial rate.
Also guys keep up the hard work, I know it seems not really much people are intrested but you guys are giving this a big effort and have designs and such. Pat yourselves on the back, good luck.
Thanks man, we are working on a massive variety of stuff, it's why we don't post as frequently as I would like. We really appreciate support, hopefully we can post more content and keep you guys more informed.
I'm just going to note that could add to the character of the mod. Not everyone needs to be 30 and fit to survive a zombie apocalypse, theoretically.
Tracking... Keep doin it.
Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but my name is Jeff Osborn and I am a class mate of Rosie Coleman. She mentioned today you are looking for a few modellers/texture artists to help with a few assets for your mod to get it ready by a certain date. I would like to express my interest in helping out and want to ask what the application process is?
Kind regards,
Jeff
I would have to agree. You could change her for a younger woman and maybe make one of the males older.
The way I see it, an aging business woman would not be the most agile person to fight through the zombie apocalypse with. If the convict were older then that would be fine because he would have spent years in prison, building up strength through manual labor and such.
Other than that, the concept art is fantastic and you have my watch (I'd like it back when you're done with it.)
Yea like you said an old woman would not be able to survive properly in a Zombie Apocapylse, also old people from somewhere in UK ugh, would look like theyre already dead. As Urbanebula said a young woman would be better, maybe a drinks server on the cruise or a Stuntwoman from movies and stuff or a bookworm from libaries. But you dont have to change if you dont want to.
Thanks for the feedback guys, it means a lot to get honest opinions from our watchers. I'm hoping we can prove her worth to you though! Morag is a battle-axe, tough as nails even in her old age (and is true to life, plenty of Glaswegian women are like her!)
We are taking what you guys say into account and if anything just flat out doesn't work, changes will be made accordingly. Oh and you can have your watch back so long as you play the game!
I know this discussion's basically over, but I just thought I'd add in I like the idea of having an older woman in the game. You never see a zombie game/mod add a character like that. It would help make this mod more unique.
Discussion is always open! We want LaB to be light hearted, comedic and stand out (as L4D2 is). That is why we went for an older woman, you very rarely see them (especially killing zombies) represented in games.
L4D is not realistic either, videogames provide us the ability to pit old battle hardened women vs giant fat men who vomit on you, I hope people can understand why we want to see this as a reality!
