The Legion Expansion is Planetary Annihilation's first fully 3rd party faction modification. Adding in the Imperial Legion, a fully compatible, AI capable set of units and buildings to enhance the experience of PA. This mod exists due to the communities wish for a second fully realized army to conquer the galaxy with. PA is nothing without its cooperative teamplay on large systems. The Legion is fully compatible with simultaneous team games and comes with a modified Queller AI, allowing offline skirmish play. The Legion comes with its own set of commanders that grant the controlling player access to the Legion unit set. Simply select either commander in the lobby and deploy! A special thanks to those who have offered support and followed this mod from conception to its current state, on behalf of the entire team we hope that you will enjoy our work.

Greetings Commmanders!

I'm Stuart98, author of many other mods and creator of the icons for the Legion mod. Thanks to me, you'll be able to watch your armies from a distance and still be able to tell what the heck is going on. I'm here to talk about some of the units of the Legion faction, strengths and weaknesses, and a quick word on release.

Dauntless

Bombing things is fun.

The Dauntless Bomber is Legion's core air unit. Tough, inexpensive, and efficient, the Dauntless specializes in taking out single targets like an artillery platform or your precious commander and is less effective against masses of light units; this does not mean that it's useless against them, so be sure to pack anti-air in your forces if you're up against this thing, lest they... vanish.

Starcannon

It drops stuff on you

The Starcannon is Legion's solution to those pesky strongholds that repel conventional assaults. A Starcannon is constructed in orbit near the target and builds an assortment of assault units. Once completed, the cannon launches them

Kick ass

and they can proceed to wreck shop.

Earthshaker

It shakes your screen.

Legion's heavy armored tank, the Earthshaker generates seismic waves that heavily damage anything that comes near. While not as powerful as the Machine Liberation Army's Atlas, the waves decimate light units and can cripple more armored ones. Combined with the armor that you should come to expect from the Legion, the Earthshaker is a force to be reckoned with.

Stoke

It's actually overhyped

The Stoke Fast Attack Vehicle is a light amphibious unit useful in the early game. Cheap to build with decent range and a fast-firing cannon, the Stoke does an excellent job at repelling those nasty Dox forces that try to steal all of your metal and it's not too shabby at destroying the enemy's either. It is also capable of going under water, where it makes use of a light torpedo launcher to make short work of enemy submarines.

Catfish

This does stuff.

The Catfish attack boat is equipped with a fast-firing laser, which is all well and good, and it's decently fast. It's true strength, however, lies in its light torpedo launcher. Combined with the Catfish's good speed, the light torpedo allows it to destroy submarines with ease provided it can approach them.

Comet

Dropping shit on the ground

The Comet is Legion's mobile teleporter. Relatively cheap to construct and surprisingly mobile, the Comet allows Legion to quickly move its forces around a planet or drop a nasty surprise outside an enemy base. Capable of going interplanetary, the Comet is also key to Legion's ability to invade other worlds and subject them to the will of the Legion.

Necromancer

Explosions!

The Necro is a new design that summons explosive bots from the ground, which can leap to deliver a lethal payload to the enemy from afar. The Necro itself explodes violently when destroyed, which can be both a blessing and a curse.

A word on Release

If you're anything like me, you'll pretty dang excited for the mod to be released. Public Test builds will be available sooner than you think via the Public Test Builds for Planetary Annihilation's next patch, where the mod will be found in the Community Mods Manager from the main menu. The full release of the mod will coincide with the formal release of the next game patch.

Prepare for the Legion. We cannot be stopped.

I've been watching this mod for a while! I can't wait to play with it. From the pictures the quality of this mod looks really good.

Something the developers could have made themselves.
