The mod is dead.
LOL JK. I bet that caught you off guard, didn't it? Haha sorry, I know you all hate me now. I couldn't resist. Read the rest of this article if you dare, if I've scared you.
Silence. That's something you've all been getting a little used to in the past few months as activity has been decreasing on the mod page. Well, you'll have to get used to it a little more as the mod goes on hiatus for a while. Let's pause for a definition:
Hiatus: A gap or interruption in space, time, or continuity; a break
So the will be put on hold for a few months. For the most part there will be no updates, but there may be something every few weeks or so; as of now, nothing major. I know this may be disappointing to some of you, but there are several good reasons for me doing this. Before I get into it, I just want to thank everyone that has supported me and the mod to get as far as it has and for helping it gain its status and following. You guys are great and I really appreciate how much support you've given. Let's note that this decision was not sudden, but something I thought about for a while.
While there is really no need for me to explain myself or my actions, I'd like to keep everyone in the loop. First off and most importantly, I have real-life obligations which take precedence over any modding that I would do. I'm currently finishing out my senior year of high school and getting ready to go off to college in Autumn. This is very exciting as I pursue my desired major to determine my future career path. Additionally I have a job and an online class, both of which take up additional time.
Second, I want to take a break from it. Sometimes I find it feeling more like a chore in certain ways-not saying I don't enjoy it, but that I want to take a break to get my motivation back. I will be devoting the majority of my modding time to Yuuzhan Vong at War (YVaW), as I guess I am one of the "founding" team members. It's really exciting because I can work on something completely different for the community. I won't say much, but you will all LOVE the finished product. Other than that my lips are sealed, unless ordered otherwise. I ask that everyone reading this would support YVaW just as you would support Legacy during this time! You'll be able to see whatever work I do there.
Ultimately, this break will end up benefiting Legacy greatly. During this period I will be deciding what direction I want it to go in. Being partnered with YVaW is great, as the Vong Project can serve as a sort of "testing ground" for the future overhaul of Legacy. Not saying much, but a whole ton of new material and ideas will be infused into Legacy as a result of working with many of the most prolific modders. In the end, YOU will benefit.
I want to introduce a possible future change, namely the removal of land. I'm contemplating the removal of ground combat from the first full release for several reasons, which I don't want to go into detail about right now. But trust me, the reasons are sufficient. I'm saying this now just so it doesn't catch everyone off-guard when I return to Legacy.
And right now I just feel like being random. The full name of the mod is currently Legacy Era: Second Imperial Civil War. For clarificaiton I will list appropriate names for it to be referred to by, any not on the list are obviously unacceptable (joking...)!
Legacy
Legacy (Era) Mod
Second Imperial Civil War
LE: SICW or SICW (acronyms)
I just felt like bringing this up because there are a number of ways to refer to the mod. In the future I will tend to use names that include the "Second Imperial Civil War" portion because just the "Legacy Era" can be misleading. The Legacy Era is actually much larger than what this mod alone covers, lasting for about 100 years or more (starting with the Second Galactic Civil War). The inclusion of a more specific title helps clarify this mod's purpose and timeline.
That's all there is to say for now, you'll be seeing me around on Legacy ocassionally but much more often on YVaW. Please give your support to our team and the Vong Project! I'd reall appreciate it, and you guys are going to love seeing what we all are working on.
Just remember-Legacy is NOT dead, I will NOT let it die. It is undergoing a transformation.
See you around.
You monster.....
But... awesome :)

Alright, I just can't wait for the mod when you return to it. It as so much promise.
If possible, could you please release what you currently have? You have the "gamma" version out, perhaps a "delta" version? To keep us distracted from harassing you until you can start work on the next version in your own time?
Also, good luck with your final exams :)
I won't be releasing the mod in its current state for a few reasons, which you'll be able to see be below. Thanks for the good wishes though!
You tease us for over a year with awesome screenshots, then you put the MOD on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time, while all of us your followers are left with nothing but the so-called gamma version of your MOD from years ago? Why can't you just release what you've done already - tie up loose ends quickly and just send it out as a beta?
I'm not blaming you for putting your MOD on hiatus. I used to make MODs for Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy (that old FPS from 2002), but after my work, school, etc. got in the way I stopped. The last MOD I made was in 2009. In 3 years I've barely had time to even open GTK Radiant let alone think about making a new MOD. I know how these things work and I've seen dozens of awesome MODs die because life intrudes. But the followers of the MODs don't care about getting a completely polished, finished version if they know that it's going to die ultimately. We just want to play what you've done already. Even if you haven't completed everything exactly as you want it, we will STILl play it and love it. Even the dying and now dead Dark Forces total conversion MOD for Jedi Academy released their MOD in an unfinished state. They knew it was dying so at least they gave their followers something, even if it was only 6 levels.
Just look at the Black Mesa Half Life TC mod. They've been working for over 6 years and all we get is screenshots. People have lost interest, the activity on their forums is limited to a handful of people, and every week someone asks "when are you going to release it?" They would have been smart to release a teaser. Just one level, say, to keep us hooked.
Okay look, I can understand why so many people would want me to release what I have. However, it just won't happen as it stands. First off, the period will not be indefinite; I stated that it would be a few months, until I graduate and summer comes. I wouldn't call it tying up loose ends, because it could create more. It wouldn't make sense to release a half-functional, messy project with unfinished sub-projects within it. Gameplay itself is not straight-forward as of yet, and requires explaining in a manual of sorts.
The mod's not dead or dying. I'm greatly reducing work on it for a few months. Look at projects like Republic at War-people waited years for the finished product and it is possibly the most popular mod for this game. They didn't really release much of anything along the way until it was ready. I might go and release something small like a map or something minor, but I had already been considering that for a few weeks. I'm still undecided on what, but whatever it is will have to suffice for the time being. In its current state, the mod is probably less functional than the previous release.
I'm sorry if I to come off as angry at you, I just want to fully inform you/everyone on why I make the decisions I make, even though I could choose otherwise as some modders have done. I'm part of an emerging massive network of modders and this time will make the mod better in the end as I work more on YVaW.
The lot of you, While the joke was rather cruel, I wouldn't have even bought the game if it wasn't for Cheesecake, And even after that, Wouldn't be able to play it or the mod without his help due to compatibility issues. Point is, Don't be dissin' cheesecake.
Just a clarification, the wookipedia is very wrong. There is not any relation between the time line from Legacy comics and the time line from Legacy of the Force era. Both are different time line eras and wookipedia has joined both but they are very separate on canon SW sources. Wookipedia is not a canon source, it is a source made by fans.
Cheesecake, I think that if you have not free time for finish it, you should release the mod with the work that you have finished. You can make it as a beta.
But I´m sad because the YVaW mod is making that many other mods be not finished and probably itself will not be finished. At least from my point of view and I´m the unique here who he has made a mod so big. The proyect can not be finished starting from zero before all people forget the EAW game. But Strobe wants show me that it can be made.........
Legacy of the Force? I don't think I'm including/linking that period of Star Wars to the era of the Legacy Comics and the Second Imperial Civil War.
On the topic of YVaW, please don't comment or complain about it here, this is not the place for it.
I do not say that you have linked both periods. But the Wookipedia has joined them and it is wrong, very wrong. Many people do not know the difference and they think that both timelines are the same era and they do not see the difference betweeb "Second Imperial Civil War" and "Second Galactic Civil War".
Oh ok, I see what you mean. That's the main reason I changed the mod's name, to make it more specific actually.
Man, I have that ****** bug that makes your mod start the base version of the game. Have you got the solution step by step?
Using XP.
By the way, is there ATAHT ships-like in his mod? For the ground.
