Our goal is to bring into focus the Legacy Era, but more specifically the Second Imperial Civil War. Play as either the tyrannical Krayt Empire, freedom-seeking Galactic Alliance Remnant or the obscure Confederation Revenant.

Description

A sleek vessel, the Saboteur fills a unique role in the Remnant Navy, acting as a stealth cruiser. Operating under the Galactic Alliance Intelligence Service (GAIS), this ship can scout out nearby systems without being detected. Any unnecessary components have been left out and the ship has been reduced to the most efficient profile possible, giving it a skeletal look. As a result, it requires an incredibly low number of crew members to operate but also has weak armor. Conversely, it has very high speed and strong shields. While not a weak vessel, it is not meant for prolonged combat: it's main purpose is gathering intelligence. However, it is capable of defending itself against smaller attacks. The armament consists of 2 heavy long-range ion cannon turrets, 4 enhanced medium turbolasers (starfighter tracking), and 3 medium concussion missile launchers. To help it escape from difficult situations, it has an intensely powerful energy projector which can cripple a frigate if used correctly; its high-powered ion cannons can also temporarily disable small ships. It carries a small complement of 2 RC-2 Twilight Fighter squadrons and 2 I4 Ionizer squadrons. Fast drive systems allow the Saboteur to travel through space at very high speeds to gather more intel. In general, this ship forms a key part of strategy and tactics that can lead to victory if used properly.

The reveal of the Saboteur and the GAIS gives a glimpse at some of the new features that will be in version 2.0--there is much planned and more still to be planned.
