Our goal is to bring into focus the Legacy Era, but more specifically the Second Imperial Civil War. Play as either the tyrannical Krayt Empire, freedom-seeking Galactic Alliance Remnant or the obscure Confederation Revenant.

Factions

This is the first of the promised updates to be added to the features section. My plan for this part of the Moddb profile is to give information that is not actually "news" but is still important. This part will briefly explain the factions present in the mod.
So, there are currently three major factions: the Galactic Alliance Remnant, Krayt Empire, and Confederation Revenant.

Krayt Empire

Head of State: Galactic Emperor Darth Krayt
Capital: Coruscant
State Religious Body: One Sith
Formed from: Fel Empire
Date of Establishment: 130 ABY

The Krayt Empire formed following a series of events surrounding the end of the Sith-Imperial War. With the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances defeated, the Fel Empire became the dominant galactic government. Emperor Fel was forced against his will by the Moff Council to to go war against the Galactic Alliance, following the sabotage of the Ossus Project by the One Sith. Shortly thereafter, Krayt and the One Sith staged a coup against Emperor Fel and violently took over the empire, with the Moff Council swearing loyalty to them. Thus the Krayt Empire was born.

Status: playable

Galactic Alliance Remnant

Head of State: Supreme Commander Gar Stazi
Capital: none; headquarters based on Indomitable (Scythe- class), Imperious (Imperious-class), and Black Redoubt Deep- space Station
Formed from: Galactic Federation of Free Alliances
Date of Establishment: 130 ABY

The Galactic Alliance Remnant was formed by Admiral Gar Stazi after refusing to surrender the GA Core Fleet at the Battle of Camaas, concluding the Sith-Imperial War. It then became major opposition to Krayt's Empire, conducting seven years of hit-and- run operations against the Imperial Navy. Post-Caamas, remaining GA forces linked up with Stazi, who was the highest-ranking officer that was left. Tactics reverted back to those used by the Rebel Alliance over a century ago. Eventually, the GA Remnant had allied itself with Fel's Empire-in-Exile. The combined forces then created a much larger threat to Krayt.

Status: playable

Confederation Revenant

Head of State: Rusken Sal-Solo
Capital: City-11 (interstellar military/civilian colony and starbase); Corellia (once conquered)
Formed from: former members of the Confederation; other independent systems
Date of Establishment: 133 ABY

The Confederation Revenant remains somewhat of a mystery, having been formed by a collection of distinct systems and governments from across the galaxy. Having been fed up with the galactic destruction wreaked by both dark- and light-side users of the Force, the Confederation was established with the goal of eliminating both sides, seeing the Force as merely another tool to be used to achieve results. Major founding members include Corellian, Manadalorian, and Bothan elements to name a few, along with defecting Imperial and Alliance worlds.

Status: Present but non-playable; scheduled to be fully functioning post-release

And there you have a summary of the three major factions! Individual entries are coming up soon, along with sub-factions.

Good stuff. However i cant find any info on confederation revenant. Got one? As for hero list for krayt empire i assume you want dartk krayt, hes two hands, that Wu... something guy with the braids, a couple of distinctive moffs, the high moff and then maybe the spymaster with twin identities. Ugh that become a very long list. Anyway looking forward to seeing your lists. :) I also hope you intend to use a fair number of sith ships for krayt empire, like the dragon and annihilator.

So is this "canon" to Star Wars? Because I never heard of these factions. When does all this take place?

Lol well the third faction is completely un-canon, but the others are very, very canon. Never heard of the Legacy Era and the comics that accompany it? It's the latest addition to the Star Wars timeline, and this mod is based off the Second Imperial Civil War. The third faction is there just for fun and provides a great degree of freedom in mod development.

Why not just run with roans fell empire in exile, krayth empire and the galactic alliance remnant. Thats three factions and all canon. What kind of adult would call their faction for revenant i do wonder. :P
Thats too much marvel for me.

Roan Fel's Empire-in-exile and the GA Remnant are not enemies, they are strong allies, who both strongly oppose the Sith and their ways. Fel and his Imperial Knights are basically light-side force users.
And a revenant is like a type of ghost, so it's not really that odd of a term given that the original Confederation died long ago.

Roan fell and ga remnant werent allies at first though. That only came after some serious issues. Fel and the imp knights are grey users by the way. Look at the way they act. Arrogant and willing to kill for very little. "So you want to leave the knights? Then die and be released!" uhm, not very light like are they. i know what a revenant is hehe, its just that in reality empires didnt have silly names like revenant and shadow etc. But i guess star wars aint exactly mature realism so i guess its okay. :D

Yes they weren't allies at first, but they weren't really enemies so it wouldn't make sense to put them as enemies in the game.
Also you can see the Krayt Empire ships in one of the news articles, and ones that were added afterwards can be seen in the images section.

Didnt mean to come off as an ******* by the way. After seeing what i typed it seems like i might have come off a bit rude. I like what your dooing, dont get me wrong. I just have a personal issue with names like that -atleast if theyre not canon. Like that matters at all but whatever. Its all looking good so far man. I am particularly interested in seeing the ship types you will have for the sith faction.

Awesome info. Can't wait to play this mod. Very inventive ideas coming from the Revenant.

you said: "Major founding members include Corellian, Manadalorian, and Bothan elements to name a few, along with defecting Imperial and Alliance worlds."
I guess that defecting Imperial world is fondor, but I dont now for Alliance, you plan put some ships from alliance in Confederation or some heroes or something else is in your mind ;).

Yes good point, there would be more Imperial defectors than Alliance ones.

I hope you plan on giving the revenants unique ships. I dont think giving them a mixture of ships from the two other factions with maybe one or two unique ones of their own making is a very good idea. They need a unqiue rooster if they are to truly be their own faction. imho that is.
