Lawdogs (formerly known as U.S. Marshals) began after a former Unreal Badlands member, Gusher, decided to continue to pursue his idea to create a Wild Western modification for Unreal Tournament 2003 after the Badlands team decided to move on to another game engine.
He started out small, only using a small portion of the work left over from Badlands and through persistence and dedication, it has now reached the stage where it is under steady development with a very talented team behind the production...
The whole plan has been thought out all over again and was heavily re-worked using ideas from many different sources... and the result is...
Lawdogs. A modification designed to recreate the exciting atmosphere of the intense gun battles from the old western era during a time when the only law was martial law and the United States Marshals were formed to bring order to the west.
Lawdogs will be a multiplayer only mod (including full bot support) with several new gametypes and features.
The main aim of Lawdogs is to recreate the wild western atmosphere, but at the same time, also introduce exciting new styles of gameplay to the game such as gun battles on horseback.
Lawdogs will involve two teams. The Marshals and The Outlaws. Throughout the various gametypes, the Marshals goal will be to defend and protect certain objectives and the Outlaws goals will be to steal, or destroy that objective. The Marshals & Outlaws will also have slightly different forms of weaponry at their disposal and in certain cases, one team or the other may have slight advantages over the other team.
Lawdogs project is long term and down the road there will be change of plans on features, gametypes and so on. Because this is community based project we will movr on to every generation of the Unreal Engine....

The bodies do not float into the ground. Rather what happens, they lay there for about 15 seconds then simply fade out of existence. It's a very simple solution, but I think it works well and you don't notice it.

Great mod.. alot of work went into the models :O
The only thing that I hope, is that the models don't float to the ground when the die, like they do in UT2003... it seems every mod for UT2003 still has that enabled... :S
Ahh finally a good looking western mod.:)Looking forward to playing it.
This mod looks great. Good luck!
