Lambda Wars (formerly Half-Life 2: Wars) brings the struggle between the human resistance and their Combine overlords to a multiplayer real-time strategy setting. The Lambda Wars beta only requires Alien Swarm installed to play. It features 3 multiplayer game modes: Sandbox, Annihilation and Overrun, showcasing the Rebels and Combine playable factions and a full-fledged RTS interface and HUD. There is also a singleplayer tutorial and a handful of singleplayer missions.

Very nice!
this would really be usefull in-game, because I can remember if you had like 30 units and send them at the same spot they would be walking against eachother.

Keep it up!

Nice work. I have a suggestion, if theres a big unit and runs through a croud of people, let the bigger unit knock them down (depending how fast the unit is moving for knock back effect) :)

It's actually the team colour shader applied to the cloths. But it's a bit too colourful right now: Hl2wars.com

Epic, I've wanted this since the first beta came out! However does it also update the combat AI/Nav?

Anything that's an antlion guard or bigger should obliterate crowds, regardless of team.

Very nicely done. I see you've switched to a navigation mesh instead of way-points. It reminds me of boids.

Please stop all of the npcs from talking simultaneously. It's fairly hard to listen to. It might help to incorporate movement prediction to that npcs see to step out of the way before making physical contact.

The npc's only do that in the old release v0.5. In the upcoming release only the first unit in the selection will say something.

will there be any way to make units stationary like sentries Or would they be pushed out of the way whenever a unit decides to take its path right through that unit?

Only other moving units can be pushed away. And you can use "hold position" to avoid the unit from being pushed away.

Description

Demonstrates the new navigation code. The first part of the video shows the old v0.5 code, which obviously sucks. In the new code they flow around each other, are able to push other units away and the goal arrival is improved.
